Extending that great Palace tradition. Wayne Andrews, Calvin Andrew, Dele Adebola. I have fond memories of all of them.

I watched Origi several times as the Bundesliga is broadcast at breakfast on Saturday here and he's athletic and energetic and ineffective. I know that sometimes we over-rate those already at the club and under-rate players we're linked but this guy would only be a deep backup IMO.
Thx. Useful to hear from someone that has seen him in whole matches rather than the snippets in highlights.

Liverpool will demand a fee of over £20m for 23-year-old Belgium striker Divock Origi if he is to leave in January. (Liverpool Echo)

Why have I got a feeling of impending doom when reading this rumour?

The clamour to sign Origi by some is understandable if we judge him based on his impact when first bursting on the scene as a 19yr old, unfortunately since then he has slipped down badly probably due to a lack of game time at Liverpool when his game was on a high.
However since going out on loan he still has Not set the world alight so should we gamble a fee which could easily be 25m plus on someone who appears to have gone backwards all be it he is still just 23yrs old, it's a big call for the Board to make that is assuming they are interested.
Personally i feel it would/could be yet another expensive and risky gamble to take based on his form over the past year, also lets not forget where we are with CB, cost 30m and after an initial bright start has struggled for the past 18 months. Then we have Sorloth costing 10m bought as one to develop but looking he is not capable to step up, the one hope is Wickham is able to return to fitness at long last and perform at his best years but that was when he was a teenager, but does deserves another opportunity to regain his place as not forgetting the club has invested heavily in him with little return to date.
So any decisions the Board now make in signings they have to ensure it will be money well spent, interesting times ahead.

We spent £30m on someone slow and shite, so £18m for someone with added pace seems a pretty good deal.

Funniest press conference for ages but probably just my sense of humour. You have to wonder if the journalists ever bother to watch footage of previous ones. I am guessing from this one they don't.

Classic - stuff 'em Roy. Good on yer.
