Even if it was delberate, for red it has to be dangerous play, which it wasn't. So then finally it has to be a genuine goalscoring opportunity........it wasn't as Hennessey had already collected the ball from Salah taking a heavy touch.

No, leave it. He will learn a lot from it and gives JW a chance to raise his game to fight for the rb position.

I personally think he went all theatrical because of AWBs hand on the back. It was a dive he lost control of the ball and ends up doing a shambolic long jump technique to add to it. His legs end up unnatural position to the so called tap.

It all comes from being one down to the diving cheat anyway thats the main gripe Roy and most of us have. Still fuming over that it ruins football if it comes to collapsing in the box to win a match. The whole thing is I'm sure as a product the premier league don't care about the defending they just want goals and lots of them for the top six.

If anything I think AWB is pulling out of the challenge.

I thought at the time that AWB got the ball, which is clearly not the case, but in which case Salah had lost control of it and therefore it was not a goal scoring opportunity. No different to Milner hacking down a Palace player (can't remember who it was), except that this was clearly deliberate and there seems to be a consensus that AWB tried to avoid contact.

Well the actual answer is yes, we can appeal it Whether we will for a 1 game ban, or whether there are grounds to do so is another thing entirely

Just watching it in slow motion on Sky .... Zero contact and Salah had completely lost control of the ball it was virtually already in Wayne's hands.

Anyway, a run out for Joel won't be bad for us. He needs to stay sharp so getting in some match fitness will be a good thing in the medium run. I know he came on fresh last night, but Wardy showed a willingness to get forward and some nice touches. I also noted that the Liverpool fans applauded AWB off last night. Credit where it's due. |

The point is it’s got to be denying a goal scoring opportunity and there wasn’t one. Salah has lost control of the ball. It’s a yellow card

Probably not in our interests. It's likely to be knocked back on the grounds that our player was wearing a red and blue shirt and in that case the ban gets extended. Ward can do a job against Watford all right. Pity because the decision is clearly wrong on review.

Has the world gone mad.
Are people really wondering if we should appeal?

The penalty is an iffy 50/50 that has been 'won' by liverpool. But the sending off is one of those that in the box it would have been a yellow and a penalty.

We fans will always take a biased view when it is one of our own, but for me what was key was the reactions of AWB when the whistle went, he as good as accepted it was a "pro" foul that he Had to commit regardless of the consequences, so seemed resigned.
As for the penalty in my opinion it was very harsh and one that the Ref may regret in hindsight, we know what Sakho is like(very clumsy)at times and this was a situation he should have known you Don't leave your foot in there. For me it was more of a stamping motion but with NO contact, unfortunately Salah with his "skipping" over style with tackles made it look like an obvious foul, Debatable? very much so, but the man that matters most it differently. We move on with Both decisions. |

Is it a 1 match ban or 3?

Stonewall red card unfortunately. He clips his ankle and gets nowhere near the ball.
Thankfully it's only a one match ban.

1 match, it was a professional foul as opposed to violent conduct
