It's unforgivable in my book. As you say, influenced by lazy punditry without bothering to invest his own time to find out. Anyone with a football brain could tell he is exactly what England needed. Would have been the most exciting player since Gazza. Then again Gazza would probably have been thrown out of this pious, hypocritical, perennially failing England set up.

So how many goals has he got now? I fully expect him to stay with us and chip away at this target in seasons to come

Is that 64 scored or 64 to go until he gets his century?

Was 64 goals until his century. Reckon he has now scored 40+. Should be more than halfway there next season
EDIT: Wikipedia says he has scored 42 goals.

Wilf is now joint 17th on our post-war top scorers list (level with Bruce Dyer).
15 more goals and he'd move level with Chris Armstrong and into the top ten (joint 15th in the all-time list) |

I think he has really developed a taste for scoring now and will get more and more per season. Playing in that cental striker slot cannot hurt either.

12-15 should be his target next season.

Yep. May have even reached 12 this season, with less injuries.

Target of 15-20 is about right for a guy with his talent
That would shut bl**dy Shearer up

100%, you can see him growing more and more into the striker/forward role by the game.

A couple of pretty decent journos also made a case for a Ward call-up, (and quite a few have noticed Tomkins' fine form), so less of the mockery please.

Wilf is also 20th on the Palace all-time appearances list, one ahead of Mark Bright iirc.
