Andros Townsend
Is anyone else concerned about his lack of form? So far, not much to get excited about

One bad game. Decent first game and great pre-season. He will improve, and I think his type of crosses will suit Benteke.

Not much to get excited about from anyone in our entire squad. Can't say anything about Townsend until all 11 players on the pitch improve as a unit.

Not sure we will get the best out of him if we have a RB who isn't great at linking up and poor going forward as Townsend is not a winger who will run past player at ease like Bolasie did.

Ward is too one dimensional and makes his life a lot harder than it should be. Sign Trippier.

Is Trippier actually available?

Agreed him and Townsend linking up would be exciting.

He comes as a addon in any Eriksen deal

Two games (and he was probably our most threatening player in the first).

I reckon that Townsend will have some good games but does not match the criteria that should be applied to all transfers...thirty good games plus per season.
Tomkins will probably provide a good level of performance but is one of those players (ignoring saturdays game) with a tendency to drop a rickett. |

Problem for me is that he's a left footed right winger and it leaves us unbalanced.
I've always preferred a right footed winger on the right hand side and left footed one on the left, it allows you to stretch the play more - go outside the full back, get to the byline and whip in crosses. Having your wingers constantly having to cut inside makes the opposition full-backs job a lot easier in my opinion. Reminds me a lot of when we had Jobi Mcanuff always coming inside and us thus losing our width. I don't think it plays to Zaha's strengths either by having him on the left hand side. |

A thread like this after two games?
I'm far more disappointed with our fans these days than anything else. |

Give the guy a chance. He is a quality player.
