I can fully understand RLC wanting to establish himself at Chelsea first and foremost, but what he has not considered is he is now well down the pecking order is Not going to help his England prospects if he is not playing football.
Will we go back in again? there is no doubt RH is a fan also in all honesty most Palace fans would loved to have seen him return, but financially is it practical now, remembering None of of our Three outfield players brought in have not even figured as yet and they are very decent players and need to given their chance first before any decision on RLC can be made. My personal opinion is once Meyer, Kouyate and Ayew are fully fit and settled into the team we will Not see RLC at Palace again, certainly not this season in any case. |

I don't really see what Chelsea had to gain by keeping him on, they had the whole of last season and pre-season to know exactly where he is, you would think the conclusion would've been that he needs to be playing regularly if he is to progress - something he's not likely to get while there.
He came on leaps and bounds while playing here, not that it was all perfect, but he was trusted and allowed to develop. Another season of that would have put another few million on his name, they would get a far more complete player returned, or one that they could sell at a huge profit. I like him and hope that it works out one way or another, but he does have a lot to do in a squad of talented players with more experience than him. |

He should have a word with Wilf about what happens being a nobody at a big club. Wilf went backwards , took a season back where he was wanted to recover.

RLC was not on the bench vs Arsenal. Is he injured? If not, does not look good for him with the depth they now have in midfield. Silly move not coming back IMHO.

He is not injured. He is simply not one of their 18 man match squad

My guess is he’ll either move on loan in Jan to a PL club, or move now to the continent.

True, It all went to his head. Now he’s not playing Premier league football & I very much doubt he’ll be in the next England squad. Life come at you fast!

We played well today and against a bottom six team we'd probably have gotten a result. BUT we missed Yo's tacking, intercepting, defensive dribbling and passing out from the back and RLC's ability to carry the ball up the pitch in tight spaces. Liverpool stopped Wilf they stopped us. Last season If you stopped Wilf one of PVA, AT or RLC could overload or run at the opposition with the ball. Neither Jimmy or Jeff are good enough to do what those two did and I think both a very good players just not at EXACTLY what we were missing tonight. RLC and Yohan are ******* massive losses as tonight showed. Still I hope Max and Ayew can get us somewhere near what we were doing last season for the last 8 or 9 matches.

I wish the mods would shove this thread into it's rightful slot in World of Football. Or are we going to have this constant whining about Ruben for the whole season ? He gets better with every whining post.

This squad is stronger, wait until the new guys are fully integrated and fit. And if you are expecting a big splurge in January, you are even more deluded. Ruben didn't play in either of our best games against the 'top six' (Chelsea and ManCity). Ridiculous reaction on here from the "I want it and I want it NOW !" crowd. He is a Chelsea player (or non-player if you like), move on. |

I have to agree. You would hope that eventually quality young players like him will realise that the big cash spending clubs will always bring in top foreign talent who will always be preferred. These clubs can still pay the likes of RLC the big money and are happy to have them in their squads just in case they need the occasional player to fill in.
There are undoubtedly some players who are happy to take the big salaries and the prestige of being in a 'big club'. However RLC has clearly stated he wants regular first team football and he has got to engineer a move out of there asap. |

"Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to hold showdown talks with club officials this week over his future. According to the Sun, the England World Cup star will seek a loan move again if new boss Maurizio Sarri cannot guarantee him regular match time." [DM, 20/08/18]
