Arsenal (away) Saturday 20th Jan
What is the best station to get off at for the Emirates and is there usually delays getting back onto the tube after?
What is a popular away pub for this fixture? |

Central London pub and Piccadilly Line to Arsenal is what we usually do. Even the queue afterwards isn't as bad as it looks.

Drayton Arms just behind the away end. Half Palace half Arse .. no problems.

Holloway road or arsenal works well for the away end (the bottom right hand corner). Personally I have never bothered with the tubes afterwards and just walk up the hill to highbury grove and get the 19 bus back into town.

You’ll queue for some time in the street outside whilst they let people down into the station in batches. But it’s well organised.
Alternatively, go into a pub or cafe for a while afterwards and let the bulk of supporters leave the area first. |

If you are fit try the walk from St Pancras to the ground down the Caledonian Road. Roughly half an hour and some good boozers on route.

If you can fit in the Drum&Monkey in Ipswich, the Giddy Bridge in Southampton and have a conga round the Wetherspoons in Watford you can ejaculate in your strides and know your life is complete. Not sure how this relates to Arsenal but there we go.

Some Palace, some Arsenal in our group so we're doing the Harp in Charing Cross and then getting the Piccadilly line. Did a similar thing last season and it worked well.

Holloway Road tends to be shut afterwards.

Do they have the live football on? Brighton V Chelsea at 12.30.

I was always under the impression they did straight after the game as it can’t take the crowds trying to get in. It’s lifts isn’t it?

I use to go that way home from matches a long time ago when they seemed to be more relaxed

Hollway Rd is always shut after Arse matches and was the case 20 years ago if I remember right! Its the lift and spiral staircase.

We went to the famous cock (irony) outside highbury and islington. They have bouncers on the door. But inside it was mixed. So if you don't act like a cock then you should be ok.
They also had footy on. Although, I'm pretty sure they will want the scum to win! |
