Thought he was great today. Was thrown in at the deep end a showed he has a huge amount of potential. Defended very well against a superb team. Seems like a gem to me.

His control and assurance on the ball reminded me of Nathaniel Clyne on his debut. He was decent bringing it forward and even organised the defence a few times. Full of confidence and didn't look out of place physically.
Definitely think he's capable of featuring more. If he continues like that I'd be inclined to have him and Joel Ward as our RBs next season regardless of which division we're in.

I recall his performance pre-season and thought he was excellent. Surprised it has taken this long to play him, but I suppose Palace were converting him to fullback in that time.

Pretty sure he thought it was in play, and I believe that. He just left it to clear up the line, can't see how the lino would've been able to see since the player was shielding the ball.

He made a couple of great saves though, we've waited years to see one and then there are 2 in the same match! |

Penstone does nothing but slag off the players and the club. He's a dick.

Absolutely spot on. Does he support Palace or is he, as I suspect, a closet ‘Weed?

Could be as good as Clyde in my view

Good luck to him, thought he done remarkably well for a young kid considering we were playing against one of the top sides in the country. He did look raw in parts but equally didn't look out of place.
For those who thought he was poor should remember that young fallback for QPR in the 3-0 at our place. Now that was poor performance |

Refreshing to see an a academy player make his debut in the pl, must be the first time in years! He did well and hopefully shows that other players can make the jump aswell. Surely Lokilo or another winger from the youth wound be a better option than Lee.

The first Palace academy graduate to make a full league debut for the club in 2,148 days, according to Dom Fifield in the Guardian.
I thought he was fine. Certainly no early howlers like van Aanholt or Hennessey - albeit they both played well after that. And it was nice to see at least one right back playing yesterday who was capable of taking a legitimate throw-in. |

Decent debut, Im not going overboard like some on here though. If that was a performance from Van Aanholt or Ward it would be average. He got away with alot of errors not being punished and his postional sense was abit shaky, Townsend did a great job of slotting in to cover him at right back. There was one time in the 2nd half when Tottenham were breaking and someone was open ahead if him in his right back zone and he was just jogging back which I thought was odd. He did make some good tackles though and pestered the oppostion defensivily. You can see though that he has talent and could do a job as cover for Ward.

I wasn't able to go to the game when it was rescheduled as I had a christening to attend.
From what I heard on the radio he did pretty well for a debut. Would people rather see him continuing in that position rather than TFM if that was the choice? Develop one of our own players rather than one of Man Utds? |

Penstone may be a miserable git, but steady on! I think he is very much a regular, which may of course explain the depression.

FFS he was nowhere near motm. Because he did not clear the ball we lost. Passed to them more than us and was constantly rescued by TFM. Hope he does well but had a poor game.
