Did Parish actually play a blinder?
Looks like he may have gotten away with the striker situation, the keeper situation and the transfer windows.
But has he pulled off an epic season and saved us loads of cash? |

No. Because we will just have to spend this summer instead. You can't keep deferring a problem without it come back to haunt.

What possibly could go wrong now?

Don’t we now get the keeper for free rather than a few million quid?

A lot of this, comes down to injuries and players needing to leave this summer. There could be a big cull coming.

I might sound a bit arrogant here but how can you say he's played a blinder. When you look at Burnley we could have built a squad much better than there's had we been better organised with our recruitment etc over the last 18 months.
Another season (if we stay up) at this level is great but we really need some stability and good recruitment.

if we stay up it will be down to:
Roy and Ray the attitude of the squad Zaha’s magic a tad of luck the only thing Parish can stake a claim to is correcting his mistake by replacing FdB with Roy |

Who was the player we run out of time to sign in last transfer window? And how is he playing now?

We've been lucky because three so-called established premier league teams in stoke, West Brom and Southampton have all had shocking seasons. We are below all the promoted teams. That's how bad this season has been. Massive lessons for the board - and that must include the Americans not just Parish.

Our transfer policy of paying top whack for established premier league players on huge salaries that have not necessarily performed (see Townsend, Sakho, Benteke, Cabaye) has not worked out and would have left us in precarious position if we get relegated. These players will not have the best sell on value if this happens.
We should have recruited younger players from the Championship and abroad. We also should have invested in the academy as AWB has demonstrated. So no, he hasn't played a blinder, he has averted disaster by the skin of his teeth. He should at least be given some credit but not too much.

Apparently he To view the link you have to Register or Login for Frankfurt last week. He does seem to be quite highly rated really, but if we really have signed Guieta then I can't see much logic in signing two goalkeepers who would expect to be first choice.

Oh and apart from the spell under Pardew, Townsend has been superb. He's the most under appreciated player in the club |
