and when you look at examples of apparently well run clubs like Stoke, WBA and Southampton he could have done a lot worse too.

On an unrelated note, Guaita just beaten but he really had no chance. On Sky football now...

Net spend £41.7m, 9th highest in the league

£42.6m the previous season and the 4th highest.

I'd hate to see us pushing the boat out.

Not very lucky with injuries, in contrast to last season.

No. He has spent £90-£100million on wages. We didn't have the cash to save in the first place.

Saved us loads of cash ? Nah his persistent interfering and gambling with the clubs future may just be lucky for him once again. Here is to another scary, skin of teeth, season. TFN Parish.

Surely signing cream of the Championship type players would give better resale values and therefore less net spend, no?

Personally I think we've massively got away with it this season in regards to the keeper and striker situation. He's focused on the stupid bodge ahead of everything else.

^^^^ this.

A caveat though - Parish has to sweet talk his American joint owners. And it ain't been easy (see January transfer window).

If we escape this mess it will be down to Roy and his management team bailing us out and getting the most out of our depleted squad.

The planning for the season was a shambles not enough pre season friendlies and a terrible Management appointment. Failure to prepare prepare to fail!

Both transfer windows were poor.

The one thing SP is good at is disaster recovery!

By taking early action and bringing Roy and team in it may of saved the day.

That's true in a sense. But should he really care what these 'experts' think - they clearly had no clue and were wrong because they hadn't seen the utter shambles of us playing under him. FDB was just clearly the wrong person right off the bat and had to go immediately. People like Sutton are still wrong now, saying things like we should have kept him, not given enough time, etc.

These pundits don't really watch Palace, this is clear with the inane, ill-informed, cliche comments made on MOTD every weekend and endlessly recycled: 'Zaha's end product not good enough', 'Zaha dives', etc.

This is not a one or two or even three player problem. Parish has saddled us with players who are on high wages and oft injured. We do not have cover in many positions and will be required to fill out our squad in pretty much every position if we really want to kick on.

Net spend is the key thing. For all our attempts at buying young players with resale value we rarely manage to sell anyone we don't want for any decent cash. That and spending shit loads on players that spend so much time injured we have to fork out even more for replacements.
