No, he hasn't played a blinder.

One thing’s for sure, he’s now played all his survival expert manager cards, he best think really hard before appointing a successor to Roy.

Probably not Parish’s fault we’ve had so many injuries though. Yes we have missed a second striker and that was predictable so it was a mistake. But buying in January is notoriously expensive and mostly you get journeymen

The January 2018 transfer window was bizarre. Not as bizarre as the thread title though, especially if Palace end up relegated.

If we end up getting amadou cheaper than planned, and also getting the keeper on a Bosman, and still managing to stay up, will be quite a successful season given injuries and the start. That's for sure

there is simply no one left, he's gambled incredibly irresponsibly, with the freezing out of decent managers, the lack of backing in the transfer market and the recruitment of managers , he got very very lucky, to think "he's played a blinder" is insanity

No. We are an injury to Zaha away from relegation after 5 PL seasons. Poor player recruitment mitigated by another good choice as rescuer in RH but as others have said that card has been done to death. Will be an interesting summer and I expect Roy to 'retire' mid May whatever division we are in.

Why will Roy retire?
He's having the time of his life, managing his boyhood club and will end up as a living legend if he keeps us up. We don't expect to be a top 5 club and we won't give him that kind of shitty stress that he got at Liverpool. I hope he wants another season or two and helps us with a succession plan too.

Could be another season where we snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. We seem to be making a pleasant habit of this.

Stability.
A few years of mid table mediocrity, same manager, owners, main players. Couple of solid, reliable Premier league quality players (not hopefuls/maybes/given a chancers.). A few seasons to bolster the squad. Not much to ask for really. |

He's done a fine job bringing in good players but there's just not enough of them. Our First XI is pretty good but our squad depth is at League One level. That's where he needs to do do a much better job.
If we stay up this season it's all down to Roy and the attitude of the players- not Parish

What would have been wrong with a journeyman second striker?
