No he did not ‘play a blinder’. My concern is that in his own head, he’ll think that’s exactly what he has done and will not learn much needed lessons.

He's been a very lucky and fortunate chairman - so far.

Costs a lot of cash each year to keeping sacking a manager and buying dud players like Mutch and chungy.

He may have been lucky and it may benefit us if we are in a good position re FFP to actually make some top signings this summer. But no he definitely did not play a blinder, he has had a nightmare season and Roy has saved him. Roy has played a blinder.

Don't think so, because Hodgson had been available for some time, so we could have got him instead of FDB. I don't know if it is actually true but it has been claimed he was interviewed in the summer but didn't get it.

Not by any stretch has parish played a blinder. He surfed a blunder , but id imagine even he would be quite happy to say he hasn't played a blinder. He should have done more to secure bfs on a longer contract for a start . De boers disaster should have been stopped much earlier than the 7 games he had. And our dreadful transfer system is still failing the club . I hope And pray sp has learnt from this season . 5 seasons in the top tier and we are still.in the annual relegation mix virtually every season. While Burnley are just outside of a euro place ? ..wtf?

What would you say if Parish had sacked FDB after..... let’s say four games?

Id have said Well done , most people could see it wasn't working, the team looked completely unbalanced, clueless, and bereft of direction. Parish would see and hear a lot more than we do , so yes he has to share the blame for not acting sooner ...

It would’ve been ridiculous. Give Parish his due, 7 games was fairly bold, particularly as performances were on the up. At the time I thought FDB should’ve maybe had a couple more games. I’m hindsight it seems FDB is inflexible and arrogant, refusing to countenance that he may have any flaws.

He did , but if we go down then the question of should he have pulled the trigger sooner will be quite rightly asked. Most people could see it wasn't working after 4 games , pundits, journo's a lot of us fans, etc . The question of parish playing a blinder can only be answered with a resounding no . He's human , we all make bad choices from time to time and he has made a few this season, no resolution of the keeper situation, and leaving us toothless up front to name but two obvious ones . We are not safe yet by any means , not sacking de boer earlier may yet come back to haunt us elgs

Did Parish play a blinder? No.

The striker situation was insane. We needed a second striker - someone, ANYONE that could take over from Benteke while he was misfiring, but before he dug himself into a state of despair about not scoring. A few quid on that and maybe a cheaper option at centre back than Sakho and our season would have been considerably better.

Then again, I still believe in Parish, we all make mistakes.

FiftyOneK is playing for a contract
We haven't stayed up yet.

Parish does everything on the cheap and when we have splashed out it was on a very poor striker.
We need to sign big this season to keep Zaha because, without him, we go down.

What worries me is that if we go on a run now say win 3 draw 1 that will give us 44 points and a finish of say 12th.

Would Parish take this as everything is Rosie in the garden and we just keep on doing the same mistakes going into next season.

I would like to think if we stay up this season this mess should never happen again under Parish's watch but wont hold my breath

What, earlier than 4 games? I do agree about the striker and keeper situation though. Massively got away with it there. Huge transfer window ahead this time. Hoping the council force him into a rethink on the stadium too.

I'd be less bothered if the reward for finishing one place higher wasn't £6/7 million. The division from 10th downwards is incredibly tight and if we'd had a striker who had scored 10 goals (not THAT much to ask for) then we'd probably be close to top of that pile and the revenue reward would offset any striker cost.

All this is of course only relevant if we actually stay up of course which knowing Palace isn't done yet.
