40 years for me.
How could it have gone anywhere else after seeing us beat Brighton 3-1 with Vince scoring the first. I have blamed him in person! Life ambition is to see us in Europe |

41 years since I first went to the Selhurst Mecca. If we continue our rate of progress under Mister Parish, I fully expect us to be challenging for the title by my half-century as a Palace fan and for us to have two men in our history to have earned the sobriquet 'Sir Steve!'

Just coming up to 58 years for me. Can’t remember who we were playing that day though but I was in the old stand and the side of the pitch where the Arthur Waite now stands was a grassy bank.

Nearly 48 years for me. My first game was in the winter of the 1970/71 season. I was only 6 so don't remember too many of the details.

Hurrah - at last a BBS thread that makes me think I'm a youngster.
45 for me. Chelsea at home in 1973 - the game Big Mal was first introduced to the crowd, I think. And Jim Cannon's debut, although that didn't really register with me at the time. Congratulations, Blind ! Just think - if you had murdered someone ... Last edited by Richard; 16-08-2018 at 01:19 AM. |

How do people remember? I'm told I was about 5. So 45 years for me. But only remember games properly about '77, so 41 years.

In my 49th year. Palace 1 Chelsea 4 FA cup in Feb '70.
Roger Hoy I think it was who scored the first Palace goal I saw live.

I remember queuing up to buy a ticket for the game and the Notts Forest game before that. The queues went all the way around the ground if I recall correctly.

September 14th 1963 vs Shrewsbury was my first game attended as an eight year old. We won 3-0 and it was the early stages of what was going to be a very successful season.
I was taken along to the game by two school friends for which I will be forever grateful (I think one of them also possibly still attends) Like others, I think I spent a lot of time playing on the grassy banks of the Whitehorse Lane. Happy days. |
