And therefore, inherently, yours is as sad if not worse, eh?

Queue to get in was bad enough then my ST didn’t activate the turnstile. No chance of food n drink before match then hopeless at HT. Maybe “top seven” on the pitch but non-league off it! |

Was told they only do steak pies. Fair enough. Ordered chips for my Dad. Apparently they 'no longer serve chips'. Pointed to the menu on the wall. "Yeah they need to change that". OK.
Get to my seat in the Lower Holmesdale. Roof is leaking directly onto my seat and, subsequently, me. Excellent start to the season.

It's somehow getting worse.
Parish needs to go on Undercover Boss with a comedy wig and moustache so he can see how painful it is. Seriously, I'm getting bored of stating the obvious, but it's so obvious. Just pre-pour 100 pints/open 100 bottles just before half-time. That instantly saves you about 10 minutes of dicking around after every order, probably serves around 30 more fans at each bar and subsequently makes the club shitloads more money. You're also keeping the supporters happy, but I appreciate that probably comes last on the club's list of priorities.

I wasn't there last night but I'm normally too nervous to eat anything but when I go in at HT for a beer It still astonishes me how poorly organised it is and never seems to improve. In the 45 mins of doing jack, just get the f--king drinks ready for 15 mins. Also, whilst I have nothing against the people behind the bars, they all seem to be in slow motion getting and processing the order.

I imagine midweek/evening fixtures present a different (potentially more demanding) set of logistics than weekend/afternoon kick-offs.
To start the season with such a high-profile evening game was probably a nightmare for the club to manage on this front.

I would hate to start agreeing with anything TMH ever writes, but unless you are seriously short on time, why go for food at the ground? I get a half time pint, but even then its rushed and I generally couldn't be arsed. The biggest issue in the past was when the kids were little, and a visit for food and a drink was a good distraction and part of the whole deal for them. After a while, a few sweets and a smuggled in drink from the shops was enough. It should be a great place for food and drink, at least pre and post match. But sadly isn't.

There was some kind of weird queueing system in the lower Holmesdale (A Block) It was almost like the tourists which appear to have plagued our support last night didn't understand that the protocol is to stand 6 deep at the bar, tenners out, shouting your order at the server and hoping he heard you.

Yes seems like common sense a few other clubs seem to operate this policy pour out a reasonable amount of beers which you know will definitely be sold. A few people taking the money and someone to pour out new supplies or open more bottles. Make more money doing it. Have a reasonable amount of staff to cope with the orders. Seems a false economy having a lack of staff when staff costs are low especially with the additional money that could be generated. |

All these seasons in the premiership and we still struggle with the basics. Granted there isn't much space behind the counter, but surely having staff to open a few bottles beforehand doesn't take a genius to suss.
I only know about the AW but somehow monday night was the worst I've seen it .
