Neither did Everton - they wanted someone much better.

It is the clubs job to find a replacement for a manager who has really underachieved given he has Zaha, Tomkins, AWB, PVA, Sakho, McArthur, Meyer, Luka, Kouyate and Townsend in his squad, they are all good players. There are plenty of managers over achieving in world football surely..? All I know is that we look awful this season. |

If only there was a manager who had a lot of overseas, international and PL experience.
Plus one who would consider it to be an honour to manage CPFC. Oh wait.....

I know of one manager out of work who was always fond of palace.

if dougie is in line to succeed Roy, as many on here believe, then is he really the right person to find the players Roy needs to succeed?
A slight conflict of interest I think ....

Dougie isn't in line to succeed Roy. One thing we have steadily improved on whilst in the greed league is the calibre of manager.

Only when we get relegated I would think they would look at him. I would hope all efforts are focussed on finding Roy a proper actual goalscoring striker and set piece expert in January. Given the last god knows how many windows I'm not confident for Batshuayi and Mertens, but maybe someone like Eze and Albrighton are achievable, even with our League 1 mentality and negotiation skills. Surely it can't be another Rakip and Jach window this time.

Yep. And we would be in the championship. Still amazed that he and others stubbornly supported Pardew till the end.

But your second paragraph sums it up well. Like many others, you just want Hodgson out and don't appear to worry about who will take his place. It would be pretty stupid to get rid of him and then replace him with someone worse. |

Allardyce of course came in and spent £40m! After 17 games that season Pardew had 15 points, we had celebrated 28 goals and a GD of -4. In comparison we have had just 13 goals in the 16 games this season and have 12 points and -10. We go into the game with the best that Roy can do is match Pardews points record from 17 games! |

Big Sam seems to be talking about palace and what we need at the moment
"You cross a ball for Christian Benteke - I thought Andy Carroll was good, and Andy was really, really good at West Ham, but Christian Benteke was actually better. He was terrific," Allardyce told Talksport. "You can say he didn't work hard enough outside the box and all. It was a lot of money Palace paid for him I know. But he was goals, goals. "He was one major reason we stayed up, because he scored more goals than everybody else. He scored 15 league goals. "Obviously the contribution from Wilf Zaha, Andros Townsend and Yohan Cabaye was magnificent. My job was only to sort out the defence, which is what I did." "He can play down the middle - Richarlison has done it for Everton and he is scoring goals," "But Wilf is not a natural front man I don't think. I don't think he is going to get 15-18 goals and he is better out wide and gets involved in the game more. "I still think they have got enough but they still need someone to score a few more goals." maybe he wants his job back? |

Hes right about the need to cross balls for Benteke anyway, although that is blindingly obvious.

And yet under RH it does not make up any of our tactics.
