have spoken to a mate whos a ref..... FIFA say you can be in an offside position BUT as long as you dont touch the ball its ok!!! ( hence Gemma did her best to try and get out of the way of the shot, she knew if the shot went in it wouldnt stand because she knew she was offside) as for the ref, my assumption is that he thought Gemma had touched the ball hence why he originally disallowed the goal; not being there i dont know at what stage the linesman flagged? if the flag was for offside there was no reason for the ref to consult him/her as it was a clear cut decision? if the flag was late it couldve only been for the linesman to attract the referees att to tell him that gemma hadnt touched the ball and the goal should stand? then you get onto the point of Gemma being in the keepers view so that would be interfering with play, which wouldve meant the goal being disallowed; people have pointed out that when the shot is taken you can clearly see a Palace player also poss in the keepers eyeline? all in all a very unsavory end to a game ( apparently the ref signaled 4 mins added time goal scored in 97 min?) having said all that if theres a law that sais you can be in offside position and as long as you dont touch the ball itll be a goal then the law needs changing?

No we are not, It was a Cup game against a Full Time Premier team with a budget Three times of ours, We have Ten players out including Six starters, so 5-1 was expected, another good turn out of Palace support who made all the noise, Poor crowd maybe 150 with 30/40 Palace their.

Currently 0-1 at HT, but not playing too badly - a couple of half chances in front of goal where a quick shot might have brought rewards. Goal conceded a little bit sloppy in defence again, just need to be a bit quicker to the ball, but not out of this match so far.

It's finished as 0-1 defeat, but Palace Ladies never really got outplayed, Spurs having a few breakaway opportunities, without really dominating the play, so compared to last weeks 's debacle against Villa at Bromley, this was an improvement.
There was even a last minute chance of an equaliser as Palace made a late attack on the right flank, with a cross being totally missed by the Spurs keeper as it bobbled along the six yard box, but Clohe Burr was just not quick enough to get her foot on the loose ball, it might have been a bit of luck not deserved on the balance of play, but Spurs really did not have this game put away at any stage. The comedy moment for me was when a Palace player was lying on the ground after being injured in a tackle, with Spurs continuing to play on for the best part of a minute and when they eventually put a weak pass into touch for a Palace throw, asked for the ball to be played back to them for the player they had completely ignored - can't really wish them well - just a bit more speed of thought from Palace and they really could have got a result, so reason to be a bit more optimistic when some of the injured players start to return and perhaps the squad will start to get to grips with this league.
