For anyone wondering who the third goalkeeper warming up pre-match was, that was 17-year-old Ollie Pain. Nice lad, good 'keeper, U18 regular, Australia were planning to send someone to watch him (don't know if they did) and Jedinak put in a good word with them last season. Made the U21 bench a few times.
He has a pro contract which has a year remaining on it.

Oh and just found out Watford lost 5-0 at Nottingham Forest yesterday, and Charlton lost 1-0 at Bolton (who we beat 1-0)
That puts us in second place in the PDL2S with 11 points from six matches, with a GD of +6, two points behind leaders Charlton, but with a game in hand over them and the rest of the league except Millwall.

If game goes ahead. May be called off if home pitch cannot be found.

That's interesting. It would take a fair whack to buy goals though, you'd probably be better off building a new training ground elsewhere - but as a last resort maybe. Depending on price. The slope is ridiculous, they need to find some way to even it out if that's possible.

On a more general note, five youth team players travelled with the squad today.
Gray, Croll, Gregory, Dymond and Lokilo.

Goals rent from Mike Corby. He bought the place from NatWest / RBS.
I was told that Corby is keen to sell up. Not sure why. Could be because he's looking to retire as he's at that sort of age. I have some links to the place and was also told that Parish had a look around mid Summer and was not impressed and therefore wasn't interested in buying the place. |

You are correct regarding Mike he is the owner but if parish wasn't interested why would he buy the pitches only it's strange unless I have been misinformed that palace have purchased the 11 a side pitches and the changing room facilities only. |

He's not going to say he really likes it if he's looking to buy from a guy who is looking to retire. Cards close to chest.

Sorry I should have mentioned the complication here. There are sitting tenants for the football pitches. When the bank sold the ground to Corby there was a clause in the sale document giving the Banks sports teams the right to carry on playing there for free until 2020 or 2022. Can't remember which date is correct. The bank cricket team has moved elsewhere cos the cricket pitch was so poor. But I had it confirmed that the Natwest football teams (for whom I used to play) are exercising their legal right to play there every Saturday and have fought any attempt to stop them from doing so.

Not disputing that Parish may have leased or purchased the pitches but I assume it can't be all of them unless the Natwest football club continuing to play there is part of the deal. Think they only run 3 or 4 Saturday sides now so they'd only need 1 or 2 pitches on Sat afternoons which is not a time Palace would be using them.

That's encouraging - Pardew must think something of the Academy then
