Connor Wickham
All our somewhat contentious signings end up with a dedicated thread where people can come in saying 'I told you here was f*cking awesome' or 'I told you he was f*cking shit' at the appropriate moments. Considering a fair few weren't exactly sold on Connor, but he is now (for today, at least) our starting centre forward, I think it's only fair he gets a shiny new thread, too.
Wickham to score today: 3/1 with William Hill. Come on, son |

Let's see how fit he looks. More than an hour from him not be possible. Just hope he can pressure the oppo a bit and stays out of our area.

Just give him time as it will take a while but he's an excellent player.
Same goes for McCarthy. |

He played a big part in our third goal at Norwich. Good luck today Connor!

Great skill for the third goal at Norwich, but his work rate needs to match Murray's.

Good out side the box and some tidy link up play.
Poor inside the box hardly got in a good goalscoring position and the one time he did he missed when easier to score. |

Didn't do 20% of the work Murray does, especially defensively which showed.

I thought he did well against a very competent Arsenal side, any of our strikers would not have been able to do a lot.

At the match thought he played really well - maybe not easy to see his work rate on the TV?

1st half a little lazy but 2nd half much much better, should have scored, looks rusty but once up to speed will suit us.

Maybe, but I don't think he touched the ball more than 10 times. Then again Zaha kept playing low crosses. |

Rusty but promising. Needs a goal to lift his confidence. Long-term can definitely grow into an even better player than Glenn. (Who was in Carlisle's reserves at the age Wickham is now.)
