Thought he looked fantastic in the brief glimpse yesterday. He looks extremely agile, excellent in tight spaces and played at high tempo. Still not sure what position he'll make his own. If I was to guess, McArthur will move to Schlupp's spot and Meyer will go beside Luka.
It seems like Schlupp, McArthur, Meyer and Kouyate will soon be competing for two starting spots. And Ayew - could he play in the left midfield berth? |

As a Schalke lad, I suppose Max knows a lot about (their rivals), Dortmund and Klopp.

Going to be fascinating to see how he is used. You need physicality at the back in the Premier League and if he is to be deep lying you can see the oppo queueing up for free headers. If he isn't deep lying then McCarthur wont have much freedom to go up and we lose his goal threat, for example. Some decent problems I guess.

Some Schalke fans seem incredibly bitter and stalky on his Instagram. He’s well out of that environment.

Looked very tidy but hard to gauge properly coming on when we were down to 10 men, 1-0 down and playing out of position. Expect him to get more minutes Sunday and then 60/70 against Swansea.

I couldn't take anything away from seeing him to say one way or the other what his future will be like at Palace. It sure would have been nice if he had come on and played like Messi and won us the game |

Yes. In particular that a lot of clubs were interested in him this summer but Palace were the only ones that sent representatives out to talk to him - Dougie and Moody. He’d signed with us literally within 2 weeks of talking to them.

I would have liked him to have kept tracking back for their second goal. He gave up. He may have been able to get back to cover the goal as Hennesey drove the scorer wide.

For those that moan ‘what does Freedman do?’
Meyer said. “The main difference between Palace and the other clubs interested was that Dougie [Freedman] and Iain [Moody] went out to Germany to visit me, and then I came to London to meet the manager. I already knew that it was a great club and city, but I got the feeling that Palace were making a real effort to push the deal over the line. |

He seems small for a Premier League CM. If he is to play there he will need the support of Luka and Kayoute. But Roy doesn't like 3 in the middle.
Im guessing he will take Schlupp's spot at LM? |
