Relegation Avoidance Calculator 18/19

That's all folks

See you next year - same place same thread title (almost) although I am ever hopeful of the "European Football Points Calculator" being the new title.

Edited 11-11-18

So here they are and they as usual show that it is completely doable without too much difficulty.I have chosen 38 as the points total needed and again, as before, we may only need 35 or so but I prefer to be pessimistic on points totals:-

Code:
Team Projected Actual Target +/- Overall

Sorry SW16girl, if this isn’t started by the end of the day I will have to blame you if Cabaye doesn’t stay
Not being funny... I did warn you!

Can we have one of these for this season please? We don’t start playing until this thread gets going and I’m looking forward to winning

We thought this season was going to be an exciting new future.

It will be the same as:

2017/18
2016/17
2015/16
2014/15
2013/14

Battling the drop.

Not if we drop Benteke and play with three midfielders. Meyer, Kouyate and Luka is easily a top 10 midfield, and Ayew should do a decent job until Jan.

This is another season just about staying up. The first team is weaker than last season and our main striker is utterly hopeless. Staying up would do me this season.

its not rocket science. If we don't have Wilf for long periods we go down. If we do, we stay up

Bare minimum target should be 1 point per game. 4 of our last 5 seasons we have been below this target at the f half way mark of the season. (it has been 16 during three of these seasons). So currently 1 point behind this schedule.

I would be thrilled with 25 points at half way but 19/20 should be our target.

All talk of top 10 finish down with bump after today's loss. Relegation avoidace has to be the main priority.

I do a 40 point reckoner based on last year's standings and I think we should have had seven points from our first four games
Still three more than last season at this stage and we are not west ham

If you can't get even a point at home to a relegation favourite like Southampton you know what season you're going to have.

This game was just this season's Huddersfield.

This is a one man team and that player will be hacked down by opponents when he returns to the fray. It also has the worst striker in the division. Possibly even including most of The Championship. If he continues to play, regardless of the efforts of Zaha, Palace will be relegated. Benteke is more suited to being a minister of religion than a centre forward considering how often he looks to the sky for divine intervention.

All this laudable talk by optimistic supporters of progression and qualifying for Europe or even having a season free of relegation struggle is fanciful. Parish included.

Palace only ever do crisis. Nothing will change.

Can't start too soon or the magic will not work. Come back after 10 games at least

Big six pointers in the next two games. Already feels like it's going to be another long hard slog this season. Minimum four points from the next two games are needed.

I don't know why everybody's stressing. We'll have 10 points at Christmas, fire Roy and bring in Paul Lambert and fight off relegation with 3 weeks to go.

These two weeks are probably going to be crucial to our season. We need to get Wilf and Tomkins back, and work out a way to get Meyer and Kouyate into the side as well. Getting Benteke to remember how to score would be a big help as well - hopefully going away with the national team will give him some confidence!

Saturday was a disappointing result, for sure, but I think the Huddersfield game will give us a proper indication of how the season will go.

After the pre season and Fulham game , some were quietly thinking top ten, top eight.

........but this is Palace and once agin we are four games in and would take 17th now.

Hard to take as Liverpool game was a blatant dive from Salah and generally crap ref, Watford game we should have been against ten men early.

Soton game was dire, first goal was horrendous defending, squandering very good chances ( no names ) etc etc.

This will all catch up with us unless we have a sharp change of fortune.

That being said a couple of back to back wins and everyone is in their happy place again but this season we have a potentially horrendous November.

After half a century of Palace I am not surprised though
