Yes, what has happened is he has been given 10 minutes here or there to make an impact. Much as I am fully supportive of Roy, I do wish he had given Sorloth more of an opportunity to gel on the field with the team

That Luka miss was awkwardly bad. We were laughing in the Arthur, but it was so poor. He could have walked up to the goal and tapped it past Hart.

It would be nice to score after a well-structured move instead of blowing it. We needed a slightly lucky goal and a worldie to get over the line. It was still a good win but converting chances has to improve. Hopefully this win will breed confidence and a slightly more clinical approach. Luka's miss seemed to be emblematic of our nervousness in front of goal this season. Hopefully that ends at the best place possible on Tuesday.

That’s why we bought Benteke all that time ago. Unfortunately I don’t think he fits how we play under Roy unless something changes in the next few months when he returns. I’m still hoping he comes good. |

I didn't find the misses fun at all! Luka's effort was particularly woeful.

The nice thing is that we looked like Man City until the point of actually shooting.

Fair enough that you go all home and away games so it's easy to get frustrated, I used to do this myself years ago so know how it feels, but what we really need here is patience as Hodgson really is good manager. |

I’ve always thought Roy gets a bit less than he deserves in terms of points - so I just hope he can get them this week. The reality is that players like Zaha, Townsend, Luka, PVA, Sakho, Tomkins, Meyer should be nowhere near a relegation dog fight. But if they all miss sitters (which they have) it’s a big problem. |

It is one of those things that missed chances earlier in the season cost us points. This then brings an acute mental dynamic to things. Every chance comes with that much more anxiety and we then perhaps over-think it and snatch at the chance. This builds the anguish.
The hope is that because the missed chances yesterday did not result in lost points, that might start to reduce the mental anxiety a little and allow a bit more calmness to ensue when presented with good chances. Hopefully a bit of a turning point. Bizarrely, yesterday's xg for Palace was 1.58 goals - wtf? |

Our finishing is in complete accordance with the scoring records of our players in conjunction with no CF (no easy knockdowns, 2nd balls in the box etc). All the astonishment is quite amusing.

Added to which with little physical pressure up front, the CBs are more able to double up on our forwards, make blocks, etc as they’re not taken up dealing with a CF.

It was a brilliant in that it was a terrible miss but also not terrible enough. If he had dragged it a tiny bit more it would have ended up as a cross for an unmarked McArthur to (maybe) tap into an empty net.

Thought we were crying out for the first change to be bringing Sorloth on and giving us that CF. Give him a real opportunity up top in a game where we were creating chances for fun. Schluup was woeful.
