This - both the Punch hatrick game and the Etienne Verveer inspired NYD massacre were hard to stomach - partly because how intimidating the the New Den can be! We were poor last night and deserved the spanking but to be honest the Brighton fans didn’t really rub it in our faces as much as they could have. |

I think the only player who didn't play as bad as the others was AWB, he still did a job but Tomkins lost his bottle that's for sure

Swansea away the season they got promoted. Can't remember the score - might have been 3-0 to them - but we took 147 fans and the performance was terrible

Hadn't we already lost 7-0 to Huddersfield as well? 1997-2003 were dark times.

Awful display. Didn't Sears miss a penalty too?

Yeah, even when we manage to put in a half decent performance there, we still **** it up - Ben Watson's pen in the play offs hitting the post eventually cost us, and another one where we went 2 up and we still managed to draw 2-2. And we normally just get done 3 or 4 there

Scunthorpe at home springs to mind, but there have been plenty. As I said elsewhere, Palace had the stuffing knocked out of them by a poor refereeing decision and a good strike from a player that had just come on the pitch. Second half Brighton just sat back for the most part knowing they only had to defend to win. I'd rather remember Man U and Burnley games and know that Palace are capable of much better. The doom merchants on here are a joke.

Notable how quite a few awful performances and results were under our best ever manager Steve Coppell. Thank god the Internet wasn't around then with all its impatient faux outrage.

Losing 4-1 at home to Notts County in the first game of the season after relegation some time in the early 70s wasn’t too clever.

Yes I can still remember where I was standing on the Holmesdale for that one. Full of optimism about the season ahead and how Palace were going to stroll that league. It never pays to think positively about them.

I was there, 12 o'clock kick off. Luckily I had made a weekend of it and the Swansea owner bought us beers after the match.

The Wimbledon game 0-5 was the worst!
But to be 3 down to ten men takes some doing, a big performance is needed Saturday and hopefully the cheque book will be opened in January

I thought the whole point of being a Palace fan was expecting us to be shit and then being pleasantly surprised if we are anything more than mediocre?

When you have been going to Palace so long as many have, there would have been loads of games worse than last night. The fact it was Brighton makes a big difference to people of course. |

I bet more Palace fans remember Etienne Veveer than Millwall fans do.
Anyway - 0-3 v Watford in the play offs. First half we were the better team, but second half we collapsed.
