Millwall was BAD.
But the more I think about it, last night was even worse. Our team back then was just shite. Our team now is actually pretty decent which makes it even worse.

Agreed
With that in mind did make me chuckle to read some fans saying last night wouldn't have happened if we had real professionals/men like Delaney, Rambo, Jedinak playing for us

September 1989 Liverpool 9-0. Not unexpected and we battled unlike last night. Liverpool were flying.

Wimbledon home 5-0 and Wigan away 5-0 have to be right up there but the Sunderland 4-0 was the most gutless performance I have ever seen from a Palace side......I didn't see last night.

Scunny in the admin season, Derby away the next season and Millwall on NYD were all worse that last night's performance

Another one - 0-4 at Bournemouth 74/75. We'd been relegated from the old Division 2 in 73/74, they'd been promoted from the old Division 4. An abject performance - one of Venables's last matches as a player.

Yup, I was at Anfield that night. Never regarded that game as an embarrassment. It just seemed too surreal to be happening! But then we had the 4-3 semi to put everything right!

I was at a few of these mentioned- QPR, Millwall, Sunderland, Scunthorpe- none hurt quite as much as last night in my opinion. We totally embarrassed ourselves.

People keep saying 5-0 Wimbledon. What year was this? The two I remember was a 4-0 in 92/93 and the 3-0 in 97/98.

At home in the mid-eighties, pissing down with rain, I seem to recall at least 2 or 3 goals were near post glancing headers

Wigan away at lunchtime was the worst. But at least it resulted in a managerial change.

I was there because my daughter was at Uni in Swansea so also made a weekend of it - I missed the beers though! I do recall the only bright spot being how friendly all the stewards were

Quite a few of the bad defeats have been at the catalyst for good times, eg
9-0 at Liverpool followed by the 4-3 5-0 at Wigan followed by the Dowie promotion 3-0 at Brighton followed by the play-off semi and promotion 4-0 at Sunderland followed by the Big Sam great escape #clutchingatstraws

I think it was Steves Coppell first season in charge...Having 20 odd dons fans singing "do you pay to watch this shit " is one of my low points in supporting Palace. And it was pissing it down in the uncovered terracing in the Holmesdale end. Las night hurt some because it was Brighton but 70% possession means at least we had more of the ball
