For me, you can't compare a player that played 50 games for us v a young kid who gets 10/15 mins here and there when we're chasing games.

I completely forgot about him Last minute winner against Coventry will save him from this poll though

Course you can, neither start/started games so they both used to come on with under 15 mins or so to play. They're very comparable. You have an opinion, you just don't want to give it.

We both have very different recollections then as Calvin Andrew started loads of games for us in the admin season

Sorlorth has had very few opportunities to impress and how anyone can judge him on last night when the whole team were garbage is unfair.
For me the jury is still out on him as he does show both promise and at the same time big questions marks over his ability to play at this level. As for Calvin Andrew, he has to be one of the worst footballers I have seen in a Palace shirt ever.

I love how a bloke who has barely started a match for us is made the scapegoat for every bad result we have.

Sorloth came on, trundled about at half-pace for a while and went into hiding in the area (when he made it there). However the worst of it all was how weak he was, Dunk just brushed him aside a few times; the final indignity of it all was when, having been brushed aside easily by Dunk once more, he stopped to pull his socks up before bothering to get up and try to win the ball that was still around the box.

I'm pretty sure I voted 'You are you rancid swine!', so if there was an error and you can adjust it it'll be much appreciated

This. Some Palace fans love a scapegoat, this season's offerings are Sorloth and Schlupp it seems

I voted for Sorloth simply because there might be something there for the future but right now he looks way out of his depth. Calvin was not very good but he gave everything which is all you can ask.

i think you have to look beyond this question and look to the structure of the club's recruitment team and how it has been run for all these years.

We spent how much on this poor kid? Not his fault, and I really do feel for him, but he was a panic buy that had zero pedigree, and has shown zero evidence he is anything like good enough for this level. The fact he is anywhere near the matchday squad is an indictment of just how shambolic our transfer policy has been. I think he will go down as our worst transfer ever.
Oh and before somebody says- well we don't provide any service- watch what that Romanian **** did to us last night- made something out of nothing- seized his opportunity, was visibly "up for it" and he was half the price of Sorloth. |

Yep , it's a bit unfair to blame Sorloth , the finger should be pointed at the people that thought he would be good enough and he clearly isn't .

Tim Coe was sacked so just checking an article when he went our scouting is this: " Freedman returned to Palace in August last year as sporting director, and Sclandlers has also since returned to South London to work alongside recruitment manager Omar Yabroudi. Meanwhile former Queens Park Rangers striker Kevin Gallen has also joined the Eagles’ scouting team, having played alongside Freedman in the youth team at the West London club." As Sclanders was our previous Chief Scout who left with Freedman when he left us for Bolton and we have an ex QPR striker I just don't get why Steve Parish (SP) appointed these three to do this job for us. What past experience do they have of scouting abroad for gems in the world of European Football where so many other teams get decent players from? The answer surely is "NONE". So why were the three of them appointed. That leaves Omar Yabroudi, who worked with us from 2010. I guess he was poached by Dougie as he was previously head of recruitment at Forest and was appointed at the beginning of this year, I can only presume he also came back to us with Dougie. He did his Bachelor of Science at Liverpool John Moores University 2007-2010 then worked for Barnet, then Forest, so he also can't have any European experience at the level a Premiership club needs. It really is not good enough after six years in the Premiership and SP again needs to rectify mistakes and get some experienced head in. Having said that I wouldn't have a clue who to appoint with actual experience of scouting in Europe, especially if European based and I guess that is the route of the problem, neither does Steve Parish. Therefore - if we stay up - we need a foreign manager after Roy. Last edited by palace23; 07-12-2018 at 08:01 PM. |

I actually think taking a punt on one or two ' Sorloth types' is worth doing.
The problem is we should have paid 600k for Sorloth not 10 million. How the **** did that happen?

Pointless thread. Sorloth hasn’t had a chance. Andrew was one of the players who kept us up and is part of where we are today. Fickle Premier League fans again
