Let’s give the second best keeper in spain last year a shot. Wayne hasn’t been great last few weeks

Based on the fact he was one of the best performing keepers in the top ranked league in Europe last season playing for a club even smaller than Palace.

Or the fact he played for Valencia , and was also linked to Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Fiorentina in the last year... Hmmm, I don't know. I mean call me stupid but all that would suggest that he's pretty ******* highly rated.

Obsessive criticism, you mean the FACT I am pointing out a basic flaw in his game. Heaven forbid!!!

Have to agree. I haven’t seen anything from Guaita in the EFL or friendlies that would give me the confidence to play him. Quite the opposite, but if Roy/Kiely etc see him every day in training they would know.

You have a problem now.

Bringing VG in now is fraught with danger. Team in a tailspin, poor results, he’s on a hiding to nothing as soon as he does anything wrong.

Should have started the season. Given him some time to bed in. Simple as that. Another tactical howler from Roy I’m afraid

Wayne has improved massively under Kiely. He still has the odd error in him but id rather blame our poor form on the other end of the pitch/management/chairman

Funny isn't it. When Wayne had a half decent game his fans shove it in everyone's faces. Can't take it when he has a wobbler though, everyone elses fault even people not even on the bloody pitch.

You need to accept you are in a minority although it is not a question of being for or against Wayne - just based on form not blind loyalty and no one is shoving it in your face from what I can see

It's an interesting question - I'm not a Wayne hater but I do wonder if he could have done better in some of the last six goals we conceded.

I agree he's much more commanding in his box now and his shot stopping also seems to have improved. Guaita was indifferent at best in the cup. But Wayne has made it clear publicly his improvement has been helped by competition from Guaita, which suggests to me Guaita is definitely good enough despite the cup performances.

Guaita is almost certainly getting fed up - he barely raises an eyebrow when we score, and looks at risk of becoming another Mandanda.

On balance I would give him a run of games, if he looks sharp in training. Wayne hasn't been terrible but a bit of a dip from him now and it seems like the right time to do it.

Remember Waynes present run in the first team started after a dip in form from Speroni. Roy was bold enough to do it last season and it payed dividends.

I would like Guaita brought in after the Chelsea game. No point making him the scapegoat of likely thrashings against Chelsea and citeh

Have you read the Hennessey thread when he makes a fee basic saves and Owngoal and InExile go on like he's had a Worldy. Not forgetting OG claiming he was a God amongst goalkeepers last week.

Embarrassing! But oh no wait it's cool because they will be along to personally slag me off or bring Mandanda up AGAIN at some point I am sure.

Exactly.

There isn’t a suitable time to throw VG into the league now.

He’ll get his FA Cup appearance against Grimsby and that’ll be his lot for this season.

What a waste.

I think he should rest Hennessey and AWB, start Guaita and Ward. Tomkins and Zaha enforced rest. Schlupp for PVA, and Sorloth up top just to mix it up.
