A vote was taken in parliament; his side lost and that's undemocratic? Who knew?

So to settle this matter does that now make remoaners democratic and brexiters undemocratic? We lost therefore we are the democrats?

The only explanation for this warped logic can be in the brexit bible. The ability to firstly state this warped logic and believe it can only be explained by religion. For a sane person to then read this warped logic and applaud it can only be explained by religion.

Strong is the faith in you

Amen.

And Brexiteers response to that? They welcome it. They have dictated (without evidence) that Pound was overvalued.

They promised benefits would come as profit from UK exports increased. They were wrong.

But still, as long as May (or her successor) becomes Supreme Leader then they get what they want.
Interesting that Apple now consider the £ on parity with the $.

Guess it makes our jam and arms to despots cheaper. Win Win

What a crock. So people in London, Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester etc aren't real people?

Also there is a big democratic deficit in the UK, as there is in the EU. The answer isn't to break everything up with borders, it's to get real democracy across Europe. It would be like saying because there is a democratic deficit in the USA that a good answer would be to break in to 52 states.

Cr,

I took his comments, in context, to be juxtaposed against his observations on the power wielded by the council of ministers, not a slight on those who voted to remain.

Rubbish , Restructuring costs mainly and inflation due Brexit I grant you that but mainly restructuring is the cause . Many of their customers have more money to spend due to sterlings falls , High spending tourists , Foreigners are a major part of JLs customer base . Also waitrose have cut prices to compete with the likes of sainsbury and lidl etc

John Lewis has been in decline for around 5 years due competition from other cheaper retailers , The wealthy are no longer embarrassed to shop at Lidl or Primark infact it's now viewed as savvy cool to boast about it .

According to cdm any bad news should be directly attributed to Brexit but any good news has literally nothing to do with Brexit.

I think the answer is none of the above. We haven't left yet and the effects of inflation although large are gradual and have not forced people to change habitual purchasing trends - yet.

Ahhhhhh, the perpetual get out clause... attribute anything bad to the impact of Brexit and anything good throw in the line "but we haven't left yet".

It's how remainers have managed to avoid any piece of news that might challenge their world view.

The trend to purchase at lower priced stores has been around for a few years now , It's a race to the bottom in the high street presently , Loads of shop hoppers going from one store to another to target the bargains , Shopper loyalty has eroded , I don't think Brexit is to blame . Both my kids worked in the higher charging supermarkets for 5 years and the likes of Aldi and Lidl have taken many of their customers and forced them to cut margins ,costs to compete .

Next Plc (LON:NXT) reported a decline in first-half profits and sales

In the six months to July, profit before tax dropped 9.5% to £309.3mln from the same period a year ago and total group sales fell 2.2% to £1.9bn.

Next blamed the weak sales on the consumer squeeze from falling disposable incomes. A slump in the pound since the Brexit vote has pushed inflation higher while wages rises have failed to keep up with rising prices.
