A lucky championship. He a very average driver. The worst of the top 6 without a doubt.

Rosberg's decent enough, but Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso, Ricciardo, Verstappen are definitely better overall. I'd put him at the same level as Raikkonen, Bottas, Perez, Hulkenberg etc if in equal machinery.

A fair few very average drivers have won it by being in the right car at the right time. Button is the perfect example of that - I find it embarrassing for F1 that he won a Championship. Damon Hill wan't much better.

He isnt the greatest racer ever, but is very quick

If he was as bad as you suggest he wouldnt have been a world champion, beating Hamilton in the same car

I guess the 'Hamilton is a twat' brigade are ignoring the fact that Rosberg could have attempted to pass if he'd wanted to?

Which is exactly what Hamilton would have wanted, he could then have run him off track and hoped the delay put two cars between them

Rosberg drove a very restrained race, making the one pass he needed to when required. He then managed the race perfectly and didnt get caught up attempting a stupid move on Hamilton, or having to defend massively from Vettel/Vestappen

Rosberg ran out a worthy champion, Hamilton showed what an utter tool he is when they got out of the cars

Gutted Rosberg won the championship. Mercedes ****ed Hamilton over and you can see Rosberg is favoured.

What happened when Hamilton got out of his car? I was pissed off and turned the tele off on the final corner.

He is obviously gutted. To have won 10 races after the reliability problems he has had and still lose the championship to the team passenger must be a horrible feeling.

Rosberg has his WC, good for him. A forgettable champion who won by default.

Hamilton thought he had it in the bag after winning the last three before the summer break. He let his focus slip and Rosberg won four out of five after the break and then drove with control and professionalism in the last four doing exactly what he had to do. He'll probably be the only driver to win the championship with Hamilton as a team-mate and that's no mean achievement. Worthy champion.

Would be nice to have more than one team involved in the title fight next season.

Imagine having Senna as your display picture and then criticising other drivers for possibly resorting to underhand tactics to win a WDC.

Individual race scores with zaph_01 only missing out on a perfect score by not picking Vettel for fastest lap. A merit award to Swamp Thing for 4 out of 5 correct. EddieEdwards did a Rosberg by cruising around and doing what he had to.

Is Hamilton the better driver? Of course. However, he should have got on it a bloody site quicker at the start of the season.

Maybe he'll take the start of the season more seriously next year.

As is traditional we now acknowledge some of the more notable performances of the season in addition to EddieEdwards 1000 points. To qualify as an entrant requires a minimum of 10 attempts during the season which has thrown up a couple of anomolies.
Anyway congratulations and thanks to everyone who has taken part this year.

Most points in a single weekend - 95 Excowboy and zaph_01

Most wins in the season - 3 zaph_01

Most weeks at no 1 - 10 CPFC_DAVE77 with a close runner up of EddieEdwards with 9.

Highest average score over the season - 47.619 EddieEdwards although we must highlight danppalace07's 41.133 off only 15 entries and CPFC_DAVE77's 42.70 off 17 entries.

And at the other end of the table:

Lowest points in a single weekend - Minus 4 spunky

Most last places - 3 MasterYoda, Swamp Thing and meee

Lowest average - 32.538 Eaglesfan1 from 13 entries before his withdrawal.
From those with a high number of entries (>19) special mention goes to meee (34.33), Maidstoned Eagle (36.25) and Latvian Eagle (36.52)

Finally
Winner EddieEdwards - 1000 points
Runner Up MasterYoda - 901 points
Wooden Spoon - Miss Chief - 411 (had to withdraw half way through) but on a stewards decision shared with danpalace07 - 617 (entering late with 15 entries)

Well done to Rosberg, he has been Mr Consistent this year and has deservedly won the championship which shows that he has learned from the last few years when he was often the hot headed one.

Don't think it will be a bad thing for Lewis to lose this way, should see him fired up for more. Just hope its a more competitive season as its been really really boring this year.

Ideally I'd like to see Lewis and Vettel swap, Mercedes then get their all German lineup and Hamilton in a Ferrari would be excellent end to his career.
