Brighton.. 1974/5 .. A huge initiation into the boot boy culture as we left the ground.. My father layed a seaweed out as he tried to nick my scarf . He hit him so hard it stopped his big brave mates dead in their tracks ..then the palace boys got them .. Think we drew .. I remember a few of the lads at school sporting some cuts and bruises as well .

The 4-1 at Millwall with Kasey Keller providing the heroics for Palace.

It was either that or the play-off game with Kenny Brown scoring at Charlton.

Whatever came first!

Phew, forgetting London derbies which would have been a 5-0 thrashing at Millwall 65 ish and Charlton standing on that massive side terrace probable a draw Outside London & Brighton it would have been Everton in August 69 our first away game in the top flight Mel Blyth scored first but we lost 2-1 and all I can remember was being knocked down the terracing but Liverpool supporters who used to go into the away end to cause trouble those were the days. a few months later went to Old Trafford and Bobby Tambling scored the winner for us and we had to assume the brace position our coats over our heads while bricks were thrown at the coach as we wound our way out of Manchester happy days.

24th January 1976, away v Leeds, FA Cup 4th round. You might be familiar with that one. My dad took me on the club "Special" as a 12th birthday treat, restaurant car and all.

1975 - 2 - 0 v Rotherham in old Div 3. From memory, Alan 'Little' Whittle, Pete Taylor and Dave Swindlehurst played.

1984 away to Portsmouth. We won 2-1. Got the football special from Norwood Junction and recall a cracking atmosphere in our end.

Millwall 5 - Palace 1 (1968).

Went back next year and we won 2-0. Sweet.

November 1964, Coventry. Not long after they'd bought Bill Glazier from us for what was then a world record fee for a goal keeper, £35k. We cheered Bill but booed Jimmy Hill the opinionated chairman of Coventry. He was ahead of his time, wanted all seater stadia. In 1964

Yep would have been mid 70's got the football special from East Croydon was a bit confusing though as all their supporters had red and blue scarves as well!! something to do with the fact that they pay in those colours as well!!

West 'am this season was my first. Enjoyed it a lot, nice old ground and a good atmosphere. Can't really afford to being going round the country much as much as I'd like to and my Dad is a useless, fairweather bastard so no chance of getting him to cough up.

Was that the game where just before kick off a couple/few Palace fans ran across the pitch and there were Police dogs in amongst us palace fans, barking away as the game went on?
