I think our first three visits to the Rioch were victories with a number of goals being scored each time.

I was at that game - remember it well. I don't think there were more than 50 of us, may be less

I think mine was Arsenal at Highbury in 1981..........3-2 defeat; we played in that light blue strip with the red sash I think.

Anyway, my first away game was Brighton away, October 1976, 1-1, Cannon scored early 2nd half, 'who's up' Peter Ward equalised, and it was on The Big Match which was unusual because the scummers' home games were usually covered by Southern TV but Brian Moore was sitting there in a Subbuteo type TV gantry right in the middle of thousands of Palace on the East Terrace. Stood at Hove Station afterwards and saw horrendous violence with no old bill to be seen. My second away game was back down there a month later in the cup! Same amount of trouble and another draw, this time 2-2. |

He absolutely scored all 3! The lob was the last goal ever at Plough Lane and it came at the end of the game IIRC

Probably some localish dump like Gillingham most probably.
Although my earliest memories are Tranmere away around 2000 or the QPR 6-0 game which was in fact in 1998 where I would've been only 5! I just remember the talk being about Kevin Miller the goalkeeper who was absolute shit from what I can recall. Amazing how far your memory can go back for bad moments.

Going off kilter a bit here but who went to Anfield on that fateful night?
Me, ElBarno and a couple of our mates went up on the special Probably knocked poor old Chris Plummer for the train fare too. Again. I used to give him a cheque for away game travel that always used to bounce. Well most times. If you're reading this Chris then I'm really sorry. I still ain't paying you though. Anyhoo, that was some poxy night weren't it?

Our promotion season 1964 at Millwall. Won 1-0 a header more or less on the goal line by Peter Burridge. John Sewell injured early on in the game so played with 10 men (no subs in those days).
