I don’t know wether this comment fits here but don’t you think that the three signings we got are all championship quality hence the reason we didn’t sign quality and also why guaita didn’t sign for us until the summer (providing we stay up ) but I think it’s all perpetration for the worst imo

Would we have spent £40M had we been in say for example West Bron's position right now? I think we would've, which concerns me that SP seems to gather the assumption once were comfortable or deemed it at least he takes his foot off the pedal.

However if we had landed Amadou @ £17M and a goalie for around the £4M mark then we are closer to £30M...sadly we gambled again still not seeing that the other sides will hold out for the higher transfer and stick even if it means not getting it.

Honestly think this could be penny pinching one step too far from our board. Wherever the excuses, we are at absolutely bare bones and simply cannot afford any more injuries if we are to avoid the drop this season.

I don’t think it’s penny pinching - (and I hate to say this as I love SP and appreciate everything he has done for our club) I just think it’s incredibly poor negotiating and planning to have no back up plan when these last minute issues surface. Let’s face it after the Niasse debacle last time out we ought to have learned our lesson.

how can there be a back up plan...?....he came to london to sign..and obviously lille decided to use the eleventh hour to blackmail for getting more money....negotiations sometimes fail..but i think its lille that will be regretting this...or maybe their financial situation was not as bad as reported. Anyway, obviously this extra "trump card" did not play at well with SP and he was unwilling to pay the extra. Personally i trust him to decide if he feels he is overpaying...

Spending big money doesn't guarantee success.

Would be great to sign great players on the cheap/relatively cheap.

Looking forward to seeing the three young lads Rakip, Jach, and Sorloth!
