Been injured about half the season. Decent player for a club like Palace but his injury record is too bad to take a risk on IMO, especially since we’d be paying him 100k a week or so To view the link you have to Register or Login

Walcott is such a good fit for Roy’s shape and given a run in a team I don’t see why he won’t score goals as he did at Arsenal. When playing every week he was banging them in and he has great movement. I just doubt that we would/could afford him unless the deal involved Wilf and I wouldn’t want us to even talk about that unless Wilf has indicated to SP this is his last season.

Yeah, you might well be right. Ings injury record may a problem too (although lower wages I guess).

It's a good market for forwards,

Llorente
Slimani
Carroll
Wilson
Sturridge
Doljberg
Wilson
Vydra
Gayle
Half of these are rubbish mind. Mitrovic
& Gayle have done nothing in the Premier keague. Nor has Slimsni, Dembeke won’t go to a bottom half club.

Ings would be a great fit for us - in addition to his ability has a great attitude. Really keen to get back to regular first team football after scoring loads for the Liverpool U23/reserves. 100% effort every game with an eye for goal and willingness to make things happen- the polar opposite to Benteke and Just what we need.

Depends on what type of fee the club are willing to put down.

To get a proven forward will cost a lot of money, with other positions needing filling will the board pay over £25M? Cover is essential or at least competition for Benteke.

Carroll's injury record is a concern but he'd be starting over Benteke now in my eyes and by all accounts West Ham have said he can go.

Had the same chat last night with someone. The way we are currently playing with far more possession and quality in midfield than we have in recent sesons, the need for a big central target man becomes less of a requirement. With this in mind, a pacey nippy forward that can drag defenders around that exploits space for Wilf, RLC, Townsend and Sako is exactly what we need.

In this mould in the Prem are Walcott, Defoe, Wilson, Gray, Gayle, Musa, Niasse, Mounie, abraham and Long. Not all first class, but it is this line of forward we should be looking at rather than a Benteke replacement.

I sort of agree with that point but Long is losing his pace at a fast rate.

I really wouldn't want Walcott, Ings and Sturridge here purely for their appalling injury records.

Carroll! Who's the most fragile out of Carroll, Walcott, Ings and Sturridge? They make Darren Anderton look like Superman.

Vidraj is the man I reckon, or possibly Troy Deeney

I've always liked Jordan Rhodes as well and reckon he could do well with Wilf and AT alongside.

Add Ryan Christie from Aberdeen as an upcoming playmaker (think RLC but with more tackling), I be quite happy (with a backup CB and goalie of course)

Think we need 2 personally, but maybe with Dann and Sakho out we'll have to make do with one. Think one will be Leigh Griffiths and/or Afobe. Would prefer Callum Wilson but doubt Howe will sell anyone decent. It's an interesting question of when they will sign though. Everton got theirs early but at some cost.

Vydra would be a good option for me. He has an excellent scoring record whereever he has been, a natural striker.
