Apparently he's captain as well. "A team full of leaders" who said that again?

Neil Maddison?

I'm starting to have doubts he said it now, but in my memory (which does have the odd breakdown ) it was Sir Steve Coppell.

I literally just googled ‘team full of leaders’ mate and it came up with careers advice, a basketball player called Jimmy Butler and Neil Maddison

It's definitely there in my memory, but to say I hit the 90's hard would be an almighty understatement. I'm sure it's something the great man would've said though at some point, I'm certain of it .

This is the guy to potentially play alongside Milivojevic next season. French, so that's a plus. Can cover at centre back: another plus for now. IIRC Hodgson said we were after a midfielder. I imagine he will play alongside Tomkins until Sakho is fit. And then defensive mid next season. Taking away those out of contract or on loan we need about 10 new players before the start of next season. (3 keepers, 2 right backs, a centre back, 2 centre mids, 2 wingers and a striker). Hopefully Speroni, Ward, TFM, RLC, Cabaye, McArthur and Sako will stay but I suspect half of them won't.

Is Macca out of contract in the summer?! Need to tie him up ASAP would cost a great deal to replace him, vastly underrated.
Like the idea of us doing business early and getting players in who can fill in a few areas. Much better value that way.

I'm very concerned about this.
It has the very high likelihood of beginning an 'Agado' style chant. Not acceptable in any circumstances

Completely agree. Always a fan of J-Mac. I can't believe so many people were slaying him as finished at the beginning of the season.

"Quite short" ?
That will be Lookman who everyone on here seems keen to sign (also why Allardyce may not fancy him). |

Id imagine for £16m he will be a regular starter if he is any good within a few weeks

Agreed. He might not be lightning quick, but he's got good energy when on song, gets stuck in, passes well and quickly to initiate attacks and on current form is the best finisher we have at the club.

I would suspect it is for Dann, who is injured and will be 31 in January. Given the alleged severity of the injury, he could be out for a year. Also Tomkins and Sakho both have had injury problems, and an extra center half is not a bad idea even if the plan is for the longer term.
Delaney is out of contract in the summer, and is 36. McArthur is 30, Cabaye is 32 in January. Both will need replacing at some stage, so if Amadou can effectively cover at center-half and defensive midfield (as the report says), he would be a good pick up given his young age. |

Seems like an awful lot of money on a player last week we probably wouldn’t have signed and also appears closer to any other signing in more key areas.
Hope to be proved wrong as I doubt many people have seen him play regularly!
