The January window has More Inflated Prices, but,as other Players Move, Players become available,as Spaces are Required in a Clubs 25.Thereby Reducing Prices. The Closure of the Lone window,to the Football League, after Transfer window Closes,Makes this More Difficult as Everything has to be Done During the window. As you Don't want to Pay wages to Players that you are unable to use. Would have loved us to be in for Walcott - could be ideal for us if he stays fit.

Just hope we sign quality like Alcacer that might convince Wilf we can win something one day.

Exactly. It's the same BS every window.
Wagner, the Huddersfield manager, was asked in the summer why they did their business so early and he said it was because prices rise the longer the window progresses. Our transfer strategy, if we have one, is confusing at best. |

You forgot the other big 'if.' But assuming he would come here, I'd agree he'd be a huge asset.

No thank you massive wages for a very inconsistent player might be worth a gamble when his contract runs out

Would relieve pressure from the other players having quality like this around.

Not so though for our finances, the guy would cost a fortune in fees and wages......but we took the plunge with Benteke eighteen months ago so who knows.

Definitely. Only way to improve the squad if you arent developing youth, which we arent. Have to sign players that are better than what you have, not the same or worse.. Unfortunately that costs big these days.. The only possibility is to find players like robertson, lookman or alcacer, whose transfer resale value can only rise, injuries permitting.

He's been at Arsenal since he was 17 and played with some of the very best players in the EPL. He has not materially progressed in my view. He's not an instinctive player and I think he'd struggle in the cut and thrust of a mid table/ relegation battle. |

One would be a start. |
