It’s beyond belief.

Unless your name is Jermaine Jenas:
''It's a no-brainer' Analysis from former England and Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas on 5 live It is a weird one, I am not going to lie. What is going through Conte's head is the need for a clear plan B - to go long and cause problems. In terms of that it is a good option. I played with him for years and for a midfielder he is an absolute dream. It looks like it will be a year-and-a-half deal. It is a no-brainer in terms of wages and what he brings to the table. Why not? Crouch is as professional as they come - he will be great to have around the dressing room. He will not be overawed because he has been at some big clubs. It is a great opportunity for him and I think the fans will take to him.' |

The idea that these two chaps are possibly behind the Harry Monk and Phil Barber accounts on here, is one I very much like.

It'll be a shame if we manage to get beaten to this transfer by ******* Chelsea

Especially when it sounds like a top source said we were in pole position

Indeed it's the height of bad manners. Crouch is a very good player still who at 36 still gives 100%, but for us we need younger recruits.

It's hopeful in that those Irish fellas were seemingly bang on about crouchy looking to come back to London. If Chelsea get another target , we could still nab this one.

Those wanting Crouch must not have seen him play recently.

That's what I'm thinking. Don't we already have a striker anyways who only heads in goals? We need someone who can move and that definitely isn't Crouch and it wasn't Crouch even 10 years ago let alone now.

Saw a recent 15 min cameo and TBH he looked amazing but wouldn’t be chasing him and if we did, surely only a loan. Buying him would be odd.

Chelsea look set to sign Dzeko. With us yet to sign a striker this one is still very much a goer .

Have we been linked to him? The thread title says ‘discussion’ not rumour.

Alan Pardew can but that's no recommendation.

Ahhhh, read the rest of the thread. Jedward got any more transfer gossip for us?

It's true. Crouchy's movement post-goal is infinitely better, and frankly, perhaps that's because he's got a bit more practice at it than Benteke.

I'd love us to sign Crouch. Think he'd thrive on the service of our wingers, particularly Townsend and Sako who can put in a mean cross.
Unlike so many other footballers (Benteke) he actually has a personality as well.

Not sure why but I just have the feeling you will get your wish. TBH he isn’t the type of signing I would like but ‘needs must’ and it feels like the options are shrinking. I always had a strange feeling that he would play for Palace since I first saw him at QPR. Everyone does in the end
