Which is why most wingers outside the top 6 are basic run and cross and shoot Townsend types. If Zaha gets injured its literally a level playing field with anyone outside the top 6. I have always said this having someone like Zaha is a luxury. He is the difference that sets us apart from everyone else outside top 6. It's a simple answer - we need both and we shouldn't have to choose.

Of those, the defensive midfielder is by far the lowest priority.

Roy had the option of playing Sako or Zaha up top with Zaha having played there for much of the season and he went with Sako who he has also talked about as learning his new role. |

5 in this month? Probably need to prepare to be disappointed.

I'm not saying we'll get them, I'm saying that's what we need as a minimum. I expect us to sign no more than 3.

Centre back should be an absolute priority. If we get another injury in that position we are down to Damo, and Tomkins has a history of picking up niggles. Ridiculous really - we've gone from being apparently overloaded in that position to bare bones. |

Townsend is out till the end of February and we do not have enough wingers to even fill the starting line up at present. |

I'd love to see wide cover, but we seem to be managing quite well at the moment. |

4-3-3 would be the way forward, with full backs pushing up (especially PVA), leaving a front 3 of Zaha, Benteke and Sako with cover in behind. Then if we signed Babacar for example he could still play in the front 3. Townsend could too. But if it's 4-4-2 we desperately need another winger. Sako is having a renaissance but I'm still not certain he would be as effective back on the wing as he is now.

A winger and a forward are priorities this window along with a CB. Think we could survive without a new keeper.
Walcott to Everton, Bolasie back home. That would do me nicely this window

We have settled for Hennessey's all round general poor play for far too long.

Guaita, Amadou and Babacar would be a decent window for us. I'd be more than happy with those three. Sakho will be back soon and Townsend is only out for a month so central defence and the wing aren't priorities for me especially with how narrow Roy plays his midfield.

I heard he could be fit for the West Ham game at the end of the month.

Can we prioritise a winger please?
We have a striker who scores goals if we cross the ball properly. We have only one winger in the squad who is a) fit and b) who can cross a ball. Squad is thin when it comes to strikers and goalkeepers, but can we prioritise someone who can whip a good ball in?
