Posh play super attacking football prioritising the role of forwards (that they aim to sell for profit) Defenders from Peterborough are probably better value

Just text my mate who has a season ticket at p’boro.
Says he’s nowhere near the level that Gayle was. Speaks volumes.

If he isn't any better than Dwight Gayle or Frazier Campbell this doesn't make sense.

This could be Dougie - Paul Hart will know him well from Luton last year where he was getting rave reviews, then signed for pboro.
Thing is inflated fee being Jan and he’s only just signed for league 1 side. All this have more feeling won’t happen more than will. |

Just the kind of player we should be signing. We don't sign anywhere near enough players who are desperate to prove themselves at the top level and see coming to Palace as a big step in their career.

Throwing a kid who has never played above L1 into a relegation fight.
No thanks. |

No thanks.[/QUOTE Food for thought. I trust Dougie to spot a striker who knows where the goal is, but I agree it is a risk at Premier League level. Vardy proved to be a big hit so it could come off if we sign him. |

Surely this would be better to look at in the summer.
As been said, a bit of an ask for him to make the step up now

Bit different from asking an inexperienced kid to hit the ground running with 14 massive games left this season. These type of signings are long term projects, we do not have that luxury this window. |

Perfect for us, imo. Young and wants to prove himself. He will be 3rd in the pecking order after Benteke and Wickham, but can do a job when one is injured and the other not scoring.

Young hungry and he knows where the back of the net is. We desperately need a couple of Strikers in asap, why not take a punt!

I think this story is mainly to wind up Durham. He's never forgiven us for buying Dwight.

He could prove to be a very expensive gamble, the question i would ask is, is it something that Palace can afford to do? especially if we are being told there is only a restricted budget to work with.
On the other hand he could prove to be an inspired signing like Chris Armstrong did all those years ago, but it is a big ask for Marriott expecting to step up into the premiership. |
