in other words, yes, sign him, he's a massive unit who can still move, would cause absolute chaos off the bench

Love the fact he couldn't make it in the eredevisie so went to Denmark 🇩🇰! And now he's smashed in a boat load, he's worth a big money transfer !
This signing would be the true test of the quality of our scouting department |

Alexander’s father, Gøran Sørloth (former international for Norway) sounds positive. (And feel free to make fun of my bad english translation )
In an interview with the newspaper Aftenposten, he says : «There is no doubt that if this can be done, then it's amazing. It will be a big career jump if he signs for Crystal Palace? "Yes, he will come to the top of the football hierarchy. There is no doubt about it.» - Does he receive advice from daddy? "We often have contact, but in this case he must know it and cooperate with the agent. It's not my feelings it's about, laughs the 55-year-old. Gøran Sørloth thinks everything is positive, regardless of whether it will be Premier League or if he continues in Midtjylland. In the Danish club Alexander Sørloth has scored steadily. Dad Sørloth knows that Crystal Palace has made a bid. And he knows very well that the transfer window closes on January 31 at 00.00. That's why there will be some exciting hours, he thinks. But he hopes that the son and his counselors make a good choice. "Alexander would like to talk to dad, but he himself with his immediate agent has a little stomach sensation and knows that it is correct," said the man who scored 15 goals in his time in 55 international matches and 74 goals in 174 matches for Rosenborg. His dad Gøran... the man who scored 155 goals in his time in 55 international matches... that is quite incredible
Edit: Looking it up on Wikipedia that's a typo it was 15 out of 55 but still more than one in 4 - definitely a bit of pedigree there 1985–1994 Norway 55 (15)1985–1994 Norway 55 (15)

I have a random hunch that he is the striker we'll get.

Sounds like a good punt but quite a risk for the money

They want €15m, we've offered €5 plus add ons taking it eventually €10m.
Will it happen? Depends on players closer to home suddenly becoming available.

You mean he's a back up being lined up in case we don't sign someone else?

Not sure how good he is as I've never seen him play (the highlights I've watched look promising but obviously they can be deceiving) but I like that there seems to be an emphasis on promising young players in the rumoured signings. With Rakip (21) and Jach (23) already signed as well as strong rumours of Amadou (24) and this lad at 22 it really looks like we're starting to finally have a long term plan. Add that to other young players like Riedewald and the likes of Zaha, Townsend, PvA and Luka in their mid/late 20s it really does feel like there's finally a strategy to build a team to grow together.
Obviously the main problem with that is that we're still not safe and need a short term fix if we're going to stay up. Obviously it's hard to know who we'll get in the coming days but I like this emphasis on young players who can gel together as a team which was obviously the original plan when we got de Boer. If we pull it off a lot of credit has to go to Dougie, Roy and as much as I give him some stick at times, Parish. Either way it can only be exciting. |
