If the worst happens we could probably try and persuade Liverpool to loan us Ward or Bogdan on a week to week basis for example. Significantly better options that the likes of Shay Given who is soon to turn 42. |

Embarrassing threads like this need to be discussed.

Is it possible to get Bronby to release Rennow or Getafe Guiatia and then sign them on a free transfer? Then paying either club say a £5m fee in the summer for another player who is worth nothing? Clutching at straws here.

There are no such things as Emergency Loans any more, and the player would have had to have been a free agent before the window shut for us to be able to sign them.

Nasri and Song were. Surely we can pick up a keeper

Neville Southall is a better option and cheaper wages.

Yes but could we afford his dietary requirements?

Has to be a keeper. The club must have a list of non-contract keepers available. If Speroni is crocked for the season, surely we need to bring someone in.

Ross Turnball has been without a club since being released by Leeds last season. He's 33 but as a back up I don't think that's a bad option.

Keeper is now the only position where you can use the emergency loan rules. Liverpool have a couple of spares (Bogdan and Ward), Spurs have Gazzaniga as number 3 they would probably be top of the list. |

Is the second part true? I thought we signed flamini after the window closed and named 24, leaving a space, no?

The player would have had to have been without a club before the window closed. We can still add them to our squad at any point though as we have that spare space in the 25. For example we released Kleton Perntreou after the summer transfer window closed, so he wasn't able to sign for anyone else until January. EDIT:- Flamini was a free agent and had left Arsenal on 1st July |

Possibly but then that was the case from 1 September (we even released Pertrenou to create the space) and no-one came in.

Did I say that? It might apply to a free agent in any position, or even a loan player.

Yeah true. Perhaps we phoned up at half ten and woke up the kids and pissed the wife off or something.
