In support of Parish

Gutting for the greatest fans in the land to have to endure 14 moths of abject shite form.....but I'm also gutted for Parish who must be feeling this pain as much as any of us.
I have no doubt that many of the confusing decisions being made at the moment around the structure, culture and the players sought have been influenced understandably perhaps by the Americans and the need for them to protect their investments.....rather than decision that may have been made if all was well by SP.
I suspect that the appointment of SA was not one that SP would have done without any outside influence.....an ex England manger with a high profile would I have no doubt appeal to our American investors.
SP loyalty to AP has to be questioned but only in so much that he probably waited too long to find the right manager to take this club forward regarydless of the outcome this season BS is not for me and will I doubt very much will leave this club in a better position in the league pyramid than when he arrived.
His style of football is also not for me...his defence first culture is why so many foreign managers are sought over English managers....and crucially unlike both The Swansea and Hull appointments who Ensured that their managers would continue to build on the teams strengths while working at the same time on the areas in need of development Big Sam in his arrogance has decided he knows best and has therefore decided to totally disregard all the good that was done by the previous hierarchy....for me this decision to rip up plan A with less than half a season left and a plan that is wholly unsuited to the players at the club will be the most complelling reason we may go down....

Parish has done some great things for this club but keeping Pardew for way too long will haunt him if we end up getting relegated. He bought into his bullshit completely and took his eye off the ball and you simply cannot afford to do that

Exactly. Funny how Newcastle went down the shitter after Pardew left as well isn't it? The bloke leaves his club's in total disarray but because the club's go in to a tailspin whilst the new manager tries to unravel the mess people argue they were better off under him. He rode on the back of Chris Hughtons meticulous organisation for a while and then wrecked Newcastle. He also rode on the back of the Pulis template at Palace before wrecking that and getting found out. The bloke is a total Charlatan.

Parish mistake was selling out to the US owners . That's when things started going down the shitter.

Parish must be feeling pretty helpless at the moment. No impact at all on the pitch from a new manager, and results and performances seemingly getting worse.

It would not surprise me if he walks at the end of the season if we get relegated.

We needed SB and the fantastic four to carry on....Not SP being told how great Pardew was by Bright and SP thinking that the yank cash had somehow made us PL for good.

Parish saved the club but not backing certain managers in the transfer window has backfired. Funds should have been provided for certain key areas e.g a left back but he wanted the champagne lifestyle on a championship budget. Why do we still have no scouting network in place and why are the accademy once the envy of other clubs in such decline and playing at a public football centre.

Parish appears to like taking things to the edge:-
1) He could have bailed out Jordan but chose not to help facilitating the Agilo loan fiasco
2) Taking over the club with the others dealing with both Lloyds and the administrator
3) Allowing / pushing Holloway to point where he needed to give up / resign
4) Allowing Pulis to manoeuvre the club into paying his bonus then resigning
5) Taking on Pardew on a long contract when his history at his previous clubs was good to start with but soon deteriorated
6) Taking about improving the Academy/ training ground but nothing seen yet
7) Promising to move to CPP or redevelop Selhurst Park but nothing seen yet

The problem to me lies in the failure to strengthen the behind the scenes management. There should have been stronger direct reports and more administrative support to Parish telling him that Pardew had run out of steam earlier and also to help him develop the club more off the pitch. Then if we go down there would have been more of a legacy.

The thing is SP is a fan like us who had the additional very considerable skills to save us. I know Palace fans who have terrific skills in other areas of life but aren't really necessarily all that in terms of knowing about football, despite unbelievable enthusiasm. Yes it is beyond gutting that we could get it this wrong with the amount of TV money available this year, particularly, but there's just no point rounding on him. He's apparently been "chancered" relying on the wrong people to advise him on football matters and is probably a victim of his own loyalty. I'd like to see us take on a "the world is against us" outlook. We certainly shouldn't be feeling sorry for ourselves, all we can control is what we do and we should go down fighting with or without the players coming with us.
