Some players just aren't meant to play football.

It was an eye opener when he signed. Pictures of him with Parish but no sign of the then manager. Somehow don't think FdB was keen on signing Sakho.

Parish said he bought him to please all the fans telling him to buy him. How is that his ego ? More on here would have had a go at him for not buying him.

Tbf Delaney is a old head and his experience will be important. TFM is playing center back and if it all goes tits up, best to bring off the young players like TFM to protect him and put on an old head.

Sorry but does anyone know what’s happened to him?

Another signing made of glass. Our transfer policy is non-sensical.

That was utter bollocks. If Steve had gone on the BBS he'd have seen that everyone was saying sign a keeper and a striker!

Part of our transfer policy is to sign one big money glamour player every summer that isn't wanted by their respective top 6 clubs due to injury problems or not making the grade. Would have much rather we had spent the 60+ million that we spent on Benteke and Sakho elsewhere. A club the size of Palace spending that sort of money on 1 or 2 players combined with their wages means we cant strengthen elsewhere and is why we find ourselves with such a lack of depth.
Parish blaming the signing of Sakho on fan pressure is ridiculous, he should be savvy enough to ignore calls from the Twitter brigade when it comes to it especially with reservations about his injury record and the size of the transfer fee. The sentimentality generated towards one player from his loan spell was ridiculous, Liverpool must have been laughing when they whacked 10 million onto his price tag after playing 11 games for us and getting a horrendous injury too. |

We stitched ourselves up. Planned the whole window over spending £26m and massive wages on a player who was still recovering from a serious injury (and has a very poor injury record).
The fact our only other permanent signing that window was bought solely to play on the left side of a back 3 - a position he played in once before we ripped the whole system up - compounded the stupidity. Combine that with a joke of a managerial appointment which took over 6 weeks and then lasted 4 league games. |

Only surprised we didn't buy Sturridge!

The injury record was clear before we loaned him and we saw it ourselves at Palace during that spell . Club doctor had him at both clubs. So we went into this with our eyes wide open. A gamble that hasn't paid off if he really is out for another 6 weeks.
The sad truth is that we can't keep him on the pitch to benefit and we can't get Benteke scoring when he is.

Wouldn't be surprised if we go in for him in the summer if we stay up and WBA go down.
The scouting department will have a host of names lined up to strengthen the squad but Parish will favour blowing the transfer budget on a 30 million glamour from Liverpool who can only play 10-15 games a season. |
