I thought this fixture was in danger of being moved ?

There is still a very good chance that it will move. It will probably be confirmed in the next week or two.

Weird to sell tickets before the date of the fixture is confirmed.

I have emailed the box office manager re this as if the match is moved for TV then many who have bought tickets may not be able to go and will request refunds.
The coach bookings could also be affected as the Club would not know who is no longer travelling. |

The Premier League website indicates that the approximate date of announcement for May fixtures is 6 April 2018 so 2 days after the final phase of ticket sales!

Presume the box office just want all the games sold out asap so they can concentrate on processing season tickets and the direct debits associated with season tickets.

The response I received from the Box Offiçe manager is that the Club are trying to gauge the demand for tickets as they have to confirm to Stoke what ticket allocation we require.
How that works if the game is then moved to Monday night for TV I do not know |

How can they gauge the demand before we know when it is? Clearly if the game is on a Saturday then we need the full allocation. If it’s moved to a lunchtime kick off on the Sunday or moved to the Monday evening and is on TV then they’ll be less demand. Surely Stoke should not expect Palace to commit to an allocation until we know this.

It might be different if it's a Monday night but we won't know that for a few weeks yet presumably? |

i can't see us being the required number of points ahead for there to not still be something on this game, so assume regardless of friday, sat, sun or monday we would sell out

Steve parish is selling tickets early and thus gauging demand for himself. Is he thinking of fans who don't know the match day or time? really?

The Monday is a Bank Holiday, so whilst there would be work the next day, it wouldn't be as low interest as a typical Monday as getting there wouldn't be an issue

How about stop messing about and just take the full allocation then sell when the date is confirmed. Hardly the worlds biggest risk is it?

How can you gauge this anyway? Fans won’t buy tickets until they know when it is and what trains are available.

Please just take the bloody full allocation anyone reading on here. (No problems with selling some early if folk don't mind it moving). |

It’s quite incredible that the club will go to these lengths over a possibility that they could lose £20k. Would any other Premier League club do this?

no- other clubs want to maximise support and cherish every fan that travels. Unfortunately, palace make it difficult (selling without dates/tiers) then wonder why travelling support numbers are underwhelming.
The whole away ticket strategy needs a major overhaul-

That would be all those other clubs with their faceless owners and not owners who are fans? Who’d have thought it eh?
