I do have sympathy with the Club over this matter and have suggested that the Club put forward rule changes that give Clubs time to decide on ticket allocations required by not having to confirm to the home Club until 1 week after the TV games are announced and that TV companies should have to give 6 weeks notice

This would give Clubs like Palace a better opportunity to take the right ticket allocations.
Obviously the big Clubs take the full allocations for all games knowing they will sell them.

I could sort of understand if it was somewhere like Sunderland and there was actually a real risk that we'd have 1000+ empty seats in the event that it gets moved or it becomes a dead rubber fixture.

They did the same with Man Utd last season on the final day. In the end it was a dead rubber fixture, but if the Hull game had been a different outcome it could have been absolutely vital and we’d have had a reduced allocation.

Do the coaches come with brick proof windows? I'd imagine they'll be needed if Stoke go down that day (yes I do realise we could be joining them)

True. Although we'd never be at risk of not selling 3,000 seats at Old Trafford on the last day of the season.

I think it’s clear that the club don’t have to decide on the allocation it takes until the date is confirmed. This is Palace’s decision to begin sales in advance because they have decided to see how those sales go before committing to a particular allocation. Of course sales won’t go well because people won’t buy until they know when it is. Expect the club to then take the lower allocation and justify this with some rubbish about how tickets weren’t selling well.

Still saving a few grand is the main thing.

The club took the lower allocation of about 1900 last season. If everything had come down to that match we’d have only had that amount of fans there.

Yep. Stoke always seems popular and being last away game they will sell out no doubt.

Full allocation for this one, just can't see us safe by then. Only one that may not sell out is the Monday evening game.

Insane that we are even considering not taking a full allocation. If it’s on average £20,000 that we’d lose out on then they should really compare that to the millions we get if we won and finished a position higher partially backed by the fact we have an extra 1,000 fans there to get behind the team.

Perfectly put. Sad that the club would even consider for one second taking a reduced allocation for this match.

On the other hand, I have no problem with them selling tickets before the date is confirmed. Those who are prepared to commit to the match regardless of date can buy early, and those who want to wait can wait.

Stoke prob one of the most organized grounds for away fans maybe because of trouble in the past club coaches and coaches for station in a car park just for palace fans then police escort on roads away from ground. Probaly fans who make there own way in cars wearing colours would be at most risk but stoke last few seasons seems ok now drank in bars near ground with stoke fans was ok but if they are relegated that day could be different.

hmmm
we know we have a fan as chairman. Great. Is he thinking of other fans by selling before the date is known?. Would he personally shell out for an event without knowing whether he could make it?
Very poor from the club

As long as we take the full allocation, not sure there is a problem selling them early. A number of people will go regardless of move a date.

My issue is if this is being used to gauge interest - that is just bloody nonsense, considering how many people wouldn't be able to commit.

I'm over in that part of the country next month for a stag do - spending the day at Alton Towers (wild times), then staying over in Leek - the guy went to uni round that way and picked Leek out of all the places nearby - which suggests Stoke isn't up to much.
