If arriving by train then the Terrace Bar on Leek Road has been designated as an official away fans pub. The pub which is only five minutes walk from the railway station (turn right out of the station entrance, left at the crossroads and the pub is down on the left) also shows Sky Sports and offers food too. The shuttle bus to the ground (return cost £3 adults) that runs from near the station, also stops at the pub and returns after the game.
Wheatsheaf looks handier for the walk to the ground up the canal though |

Officially no - the place is covered in home fans only signs. But I've been in there a couple of times as they don't usually check tickets or anything. Not sure whether that'll be the case this time though.

That walk along the canal is a fair old distance.

It's a couple of miles, pleasant enough on a fine day

Thanks for this. Sounds an even better plan if there's a shuttle bus and away friendly. |

If you don't wear colours and don't act the clown then you can go into any of the pubs in Stoke. Some of the locals are a tough old breed, but if you're not looking for aggro then I've always found them okay. Lots of moustaches on display (mainly the women) & numerous 'No surrender to the IRA' chants are to be expected.
Post game might be different if the result doesn't go their way. Although you probably won't have to put your hand in your pocket if you go for celebratory pints in Burslem (north of the train station. Nearest station is Longport I think?) Last edited by Selhurst Celtic; 04-05-2018 at 12:58 PM. |

If you turn right out of station and head the opposite way to where the plod point there are a couple of very good pubs.Dont wear colours and you should have no problems getting in. Start chanting and you will get filled in.

If you wish to start a: "We're staying up, we're staying up, you're not, you're not" chant whilst in a conga tipping plastic pint pots of fizzy lager on your head, then be sure to have your life insurance policy up to date.

I'm not sure a common sense policy has a place on the BBS.....

Cheers for the suggestions - think we’ll head to the Terrace Bar and then jump in a cab to the ground.

It was very pleasant, plus just by the ground was the 'Barge-Inn Booze', basically a canal boat with a licence to sell beer. Sat out there in the sun chatting to Stoke supporters before the game. Very pleasant. Managed to get a couple of cans for the walk back along the canal after the game to.
