There are no pubs for away fans in close vicinity to the stadium (although if you have a Gala Bingo card and no kids in tow, there is a bingo hall right next to the ground with a bar!!)

Have regularly used the bar in the swimming centre at Barnsley, as have others on this thread

No pubs but right opposite the ground there is a Bowling alley that has a fairly large bar and never been any restrictions to go in there, theres also a sports bar now in the same complex as well as a Hilton hotel that I'm sure may allow the bar to be used so plenty of drinking options

No trains. No pubs.

My planned jolly jaunt to Oxford, with nice ale by the river in the sunshine followed by a spot of football, is morphing into a bit of a nuisance.

The King’s Arms at Sanford Lock on the Thames was always good for a pint. It’s about a 30 minute walk from the Kassam stadium, or 5 minutes (?) in the car.

Otherwise, in town the Perch at Binsey, or the Trout in Wolvercote are both nice places to have a pint on the river. Both would require one or two buses or a car to the ground. That being said, it is an easy drive to the Kassam from either.

I live in Oxford, and I've always wondered how many Palace fans live in Oxford and regularly commute down to Selhurst for matches. I go to Selhurst about 10 times a year, and would go more but it just takes so darn long and it's not always convenient for night matches (~ 2hr30 each way on the train)

Indeed - I may well give it a swerve!

I lived in Headington many years ago, a stone's throw from the Old Manor Ground. I'd have thought the X90 bus is a good option for Selhurst, given that it takes you to Victoria.

Even that still takes ~ 1 hour 45 - same total journey time

I live about 15 miles west of Oxford and my normal route is to drive to Perivale and then take the Central to Shepherds Bush and Overground to Selhurst if I make the connection, otherwise it's a change at Clapham Junction.

Switch it up and join the OASTBRATs in Derby for a day on the beer instead

Take a stroll out down the Thames path and pop into the Isis Farmhouse for a few beers - cross the river at Iffley lock and then catch the number 3 bus from Iffley Road to the ground - sorted.
