Merstham v Palace XI Sat 28th July 3pm
Good afternoon all
Just a quick reminder of the same fixture again next Saturday. The last was a huge success with many first team players in attendance. Rumour has it, that it will be the same again this time round. The pub is still standing (just). It has now officially been sold to a developer but agreements have been made in order for the possibility of another smaller pub being built on the site and funding dependant. Long story... Please make it if you can and support both CPFC and pub. Thanks |

That's a real shame - Palace U23's playing literally 2 minutes walk from my house, and I haven't been to a game there yet since they redeveloped the ground (it only opened 2 weeks ago)
...but I've already got tickets for Reading! Son is going there tonight to cheer on Dorking Wanderers against Br*ghton U23's though. According to a neighbour who supports Dorking Wanderers the brand new artificial pitch 'plays very slow' (whatever that means!)

Is there likely to be any first team players at the game today?

I've seen a lot worse tbh but I did have to leave early. Chris Haigh made two excellent saves from Francis Jno Baptiste in the second half.
I like TQ Addy (no14 came on at half-time)

That was Ollie O'Dwyer. Towering CB been at the club since he signed from Reading aged 16. I like him but he's had a lot of injuries.

Ollie O'dywer - I thought he was superb against a very very good Merstham number 9.
Totally commanding in the air at both ends of the pitch and showed great skill with both feet for such a tall player - pretty quick too, or at least covered a lot of ground quickly due to his long strides! He looks good every time I see him play. I wasn't aware of his injuries, but if he can put these behind him, he could surely progress. |
