Good on him

He's been there ages hasn't he?
A limited player but always gave his all. Would be good to see him back at Selhurst one day but it doesn't look likely with Pompey's current position!

I thought Ertl did a fantastic job for us and I was sad to see him leave. |

He'll do a great job there, a limited player (but seemed to understand his limitations) who always gave absolutely everything and his performances and those of the team clearly mattered to him - you could tell from the joy on his face coming off the pitch when we'd won and the despondency when we didn't.
Yes we have moved on a long way since he left, but players like Jonny Ertl are the reason why we didn't drop to League 1 and still have a team to follow. |

Love him! And he loved his time here but had to make a career choice, and, probably made the wrong one.

He was ok, a decent worker. Not the most skillful but we were crying out for a defensive midfielder under Burley and he'd have fitted the bill for us. I think he'd arranged to go to Sheffield United before we were even out of administration though.
He's on the next FYP podcast by the way.

A good player but I have no idea why Sheffield United and Pompey have insisted on playing him as a center back.

was it his debut in the Cup against Leeds when he was played at right-back?
Had a SHOCKER. After that wasn't really anywhere to be seen until his new-found role as the second DM alongside Derry. Cult hero by the end. |

My favourite player for us in the short time he was here. As someone above said, he became a bit of a cult hero. Good luck to him.

I backed him @ 50-1 to score first in a Cup game against Villa, so I have much man love for Ertl!
