Scannell
Is he up to the level?
He's a local lad and so I hope he comes good, but he hasn't scored many at all this season. Why is that? I know he's been played out of position at times, but is he capable of being good enough at a consistent regularity for him to be in our first eleven? |

Definately has the talent, but doesn't seem be enjoying his football ATM.

Not good enough I'm afraid. Had 4 years to get it done and hasn't done it. If he hadn't of come through our academy he would have gone by now

Strange because on Football Manager and SOccer Manager he is very good - a goal-scorer.

It's odd. He goes through spells where he looks to be finally kicking on and then just disappears. Looks like he has zero confidence at the moment.
I really hope it works out for him but I'm starting to wonder if it will |

He is good and has shown on occasions he is but today he was just uninterested and wasn't paying attention half the time.

I'm afraid I don't think he's going to make it at this level. Dire today and has had a generally poor season.

There's only so long you can give a player. I think he'll be one of those under threat in the summer

He's still really young and is a solid squad player. Do hope that he kicks on from here though as there are flashes of what he could be capable of.
Not many of the attacking players have really fired on all cylinders this year, he's not the odd one out.

In August he was playing as one of a front two, and scoring.
He is ineffective wide, but all his game time is there. |

Don't think we should sell him, as he is one of our own and is still a dangerous sub against tired legs.
However, IMO he hasn't improved by much at all this season when really he should have, and Zaha scoring two in his last two games both in the position Scannell wants to play in won't do him any favours at all. |

I expected a great deal more from him. I'd send him out on loan next year and see if he can build some confidence playing regularly in League One. If he does then give him another chance, if he doesn't then we'll know more about him.
Certainly has potential. |

He'll leave eventually, drop down a league, play down the middle and score frequently. Probably settle then at a lower league Championship team as a 10 goal-a-season striker.

9 months ago, everyone stated this was Sean's big year. Started the season, like a house on fire, and ended it like a damp squid, and even his most avid fans must admit, he hasn't delivered.
Desperate for him to do well, but his future may lie elsewhere. |
