26 points. Nah.

In 2-3 weeks they could be well in the mire.

Ultimately if we go down the Swansea results will no doubt come back to haunt us

4 points lost in the dying moments of games

I reckon we will draw our way to safety. 7 draws and 3 wins giving us 35 points. Won't be pretty and I'll probably have a heart attack at some point but I'll take it if we scrape by.

They only need two more wins and a handful of draws in 15 games. Three wins and they're safe.

Swansea are in great form, Hull and Sunderland keep scrapping away and in the last 6 games or so you often get some strange results with certain teams having nothing to play for and others resting players before cup finals/ champs league knock out ties.

Around this time of year people always underestimate the points we will need because most teams near the bottom do pick up and you can almost certain that at least one will.
My estimate is based on 6 teams being in the mix. Last season by this time there were just 4 and villa were dead.

With 3 teams on 21 points one of those are likely to drop into the bottom 3.

They could lose their next four games and it would put them in reach and under pressure. Looks like a six team league but at least one safe looking team gets sucked in every season. No team is dead so every game will be high pressure.

You may be right, but I would be surprised if 34 is enough.

I had a look at all the bottom 6 remaining fixtures earlier and I had Middlesbrough finishing in 18th with 34 points, one place below us. Hull and Sunderland also down

Why isn't anyone considering Leicester? Something is deeply wrong at the club and they can't score goals.

Yes. I mentioned this earlier. They've got some nasty fixtures coming up

Nobody believed they could win the title now nobody believes they could be relegated

I also don't think Burnley are out of it either. Despite their strong showing until now. Remaining home fixtures are Chelsea, Spurs, Stoke, Man Utd, West Brom & West Ham. Assuming their appalling away form doesn't radically pick up. It would so easy to see them losing the next 2 at home, then they are under pressure. Fail to beat Stoke, lose to Man Utd & then they win the last 2 at home - only gives them 7 more points. I just have a feeling that they are about to go on a massive slide. Like us last season they will probably just about have done enough, but they will be involved in it up to the end of the season I think.

A Palace win against Sunderland could put Leicester in the bottom 3 before they face Man United.

Some of the other teams are due a bit of the bad luck Palace have had in the last year. A spate of injuries, poor decisions etc etc

We could do with Negredo, Sigurdsson and Defoe all having a bad patch of form (I wouldn't like to wish injury on any player). Hopefully Snodgrass going will hurt Hull's goal scoring abilities too.

Assuming 37 points as usual they only need 8 points from 15 games - they will get them

Bottom 3 will come from teams currently 14th and below.

I'm going for Sunderland (completely reliant on an ageing Defoe and actually weakened themselves in the transfer window), MBoro (just cant score the goals they need) and one other. I suspect Hull, they just don't have enough quality - but Bournemouth might yet take it
