Has there been more reported on Wilf as if he has an abductor strain, he is likely out for 6 weeks.

Don't want to see too many changes. Even the above would be good. Schlupp needs to go, and McArthur needs to exit centre mid. Kouyate would add steel. Meyer would add class. If we were at home I'd give Meyer his debut Premier League start. But Kouyate is battle-hardened and knows what is required from this league. Maybe he should tuck in to centre mid.

Andros to have defensive responsibilities. Zaha to have none (McArthur to cover).

People who think Ayew or the Sloth are more likely to score than Benteke are deluded. All 3 are poor.

What, you mean more than 3 goals in 36 games? I think you'll find Ayew scored more than that last season for a very poor Swansea team. Amazes me how people can defend benteke to the hilt when he's been garbage and yet state categorically that Ayew and Sorloth won't score more. They may not but I'm pretty certain they wouldn't do any worse. And Ayew had a decent season last year.

Ayew scored 11 goals last season and is by far the better finisher.

Overrun in midfield.

Huddersfield will be a physical game, Meyer and even McArthur aren't the guys for a punch up.

Drop all three and include Sorloth or Ayew.

You do know Benteke scored 2 goals from open play last season. We also had almost as many shots Saturday as Soton 19/20. Benteke couldn't hit a barn door at 6ft.

I can't see either Ayew or Sorloth being that bad over a season.

Let’s get control of this midfield. Kouyate and Luka in the middle.

If wilf is going to be out for a while, I would go with;

WH

AWB. Tomkins Sakho. PVA

Andros Luka Meyer Kouyate Jimmy

Ayew

Try and win the centre of midfield, hopefully pace & movement can create some chances.

I honestly hope you are right, but from what I have seen Sorloth is not up to the standard yet and Ayew spent more time on the floor than anything else on Saturday. All I assume is that Swansea played a different way to us. Btw neither player had an effort on goal on Saturday.

Ayew is behind match fitness wise so he did ok on Saturday considering. He will get better with games. He scored 11 goals last season in a poor Swansea team. He could be a good signing for us so I think he deserves a fair chance.

What i would like to see:

4-3-3 (as we had during our unbeaten streak towards the end of last season)...

......................Hennessey
AWB.............Tomkins......Sakho......PVA
MacArthur............Kouyate.......Meyer
Townsend.........Benteke.........Zaha

Subs: Guiata, Ward, Sorloth, Schlupp, Reidewald, Luka, Ayew

What i think we will get is probably 2 changes if Tomkins and Zaha are fit: (because Roy is a conservative, loyal manager who likes to trust the players and doesn't believe in a Mourinho style crisis management approach):

4-4-2

......................Hennessey
AWB.............Tomkins......Sakho......PVA
Townsend.....MacArthur....Luka......Schlupp
.................Benteke.........Zaha

Subs: Guiata, Ward, Sorloth, Mayer, Reidewald, Ayew, Kouyate...

Judging by his statement to the Serbian FA and adjusting to the loss of Cabaye Luka is out of sorts, dropping the captain sends a powerful but important message to the likes of Benteke etc that everybody is playing for their places and nobody's place is guaranteed - for the first time (and certainly in this premier league era) - thats almost true....

Lets just hope that Wilf Zaha is fit to start as without him does not bare thinking about as history will show it is a loss, what is is 13 games without him equals 13 losses.
That is worrying to say the least, so IF we have to go into this game without WZ then we need to approach the game with an attacking formation upfront as this is a game we Must look to win, but reluctantly i would put Benteke in as i feel he is still our best target man available and played alongside Ayew and Townsend, is our best chance to win the game.
