Skiing Thread

I have looked through the BBS and cannot another skiing specific thread and cannot believe that there aren't a few skiers on here.

My wife and I are just looking at booking a skiing holiday for January and fancy going to Italy. We are trying to decide between Cervinia and Val Gardena in the Dolomite Superski region and wondered if anyone has any views on either?

Went to Cervinia last year and loved it. Wind can pick up but didn't while we were there, and food generally v good.

Lots of stuff for beginner/intermediates to ski, decent off piste, and some good tough runs too, and if either/both of you are really into skiing then you can buy a pass that also covers the entire Zermatt side of the mountain too (which gives you more piste than you can imagine!!).

There are some amazing long runs on the Cervinia side - you can ski top to bottom in one go - I think it's nearly 20k - a good challenge!
