Completely agree with this. I started running in May after years of being lazy and overweight. I started off to quickly pushing myself to hard and ended up with injuries first it was my knee then achilles and then I strained my hamstring. Take your time and work up to it.

All of this. Small targets (either a slightly longer run or a slightly quicker run) are the way to go.

Also, be ready for some days when it just ainít right. Some days itíll feel good, some days youíll be blowing chunks. Just be prepared to take the rough with the smooth. In the long term, itíll work out fine. Good luck

Its a very tough hilly course and the weather forecast for Sunday isn't pleasant.

Was tempted to do it, but am doing the SEAA relays on Sunday over a tough hilly 6km course
